Does anyone use "Stage 2" formula?

I'm new to exclusively FF and have been using Similac Advance Stage 1. Someone mentioned Stage 2 on Facebook and I did some quick research. I guess I assumed before that it was one of those toddler formulas, but apparently it's marketed as being for 6-12 months ("after the introduction of solid foods") and has "more fat and calories for active babies." Should I be using stage 2? Am I depriving my baby of fat and calories? Fortunately she's not that active so I think I'm good. #lazybaby #ordoessheneedstage2tofinallycrawl?

  • I use Gerber good start gentle which goes from newborn+. There's a stage two of that brand, but since the one she's on goes from newborn and up, I'm not changing. She's on track with weight and still eating a good amount.

  • We use Similac and are still using Stage 1.

  • We just bought some today. We're going to transition her into it this week.
  • I bought some simillac stage 2 because it was cheaper.

  • I use the generic brand gentle (either target or walmart) and I've never switched. I wonder if stage 2 had more iron?

  • No need for it. You can use stage 1 formula until you switch to WCM in a couple months. I always thought the stage 2 was for babies that needed a fattier formula to continue to help with weight gain.

LO is gaining well on Stage 1. She was hanging out in the 40th percentile or so until we switched to formula, but now she's bulking up.
