Convertible car seats - any recommendations?

I really hate our infant seat but need it for the stroller. Once DS is big enough to sit in the stroller without the car seat we plan on changing him into a convertible. We're starting to look around for one now since we have friends coming to stay soon with their 15 month old and will need a car seat for her (they are flying and not bringing their seat with them).

Can anyone recommend their convertible car seat? We have a kia sorento and DS is fairly long and skinny if that makes any difference.

We love our Britax Boulevard. Been using it with DS for two years now. When she moves up he will pass that on to her.

Britax family here. We have advocates and my mom has a boulevard. Love them.
I would highly suggest checking out Car Seats for the Littles. Tell them your car and budget and they can recommend some seats for you.

Safety first omega alpha elite. We've actually used it since ds was born. No bucket seat. It works got us and goes up to 100 pounds.

So many of these are only available online. I really would like to be able to check them out in person. @danabsd and @Junebug060609‌ how much space do you have in the font seats with the britax when it's rear facing?

Going by memory here as DS is FF. We didn't have a ton up front. We had him in the middle, which can't happen now with dd, andcould just fit. DH is 6+ feet though, so he needs a fair bit of room. We drive a trailblazer. Convertible seats are big though, both depth and height.

I think some friends that have smaller vehicles have recaros and like them.

The convertible takes up far less space than the infant seat. We have them RFing in both a Corolla and a CX-9 with more than enough room.

We have the Chicco Nextfit and I love it! They sell it at Babies R Us, Target, and I think Buy Buy Baby if you are interested in trying it out in person. It's pretty compact from front to back. I also suggest Car Seats for the Littles, you just give them your LO's stats, your budget, and your vehicle and they can give you suggestions.

DS will get DD's current Evenflo Triumph - our must have feature is the no-rethread harness, which is AMAZING, and the twisty knobs to tighten the harness are so much easier than the strap you yank on.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I think we are going to go with the Evenflo symphony. Seems to have good reviews and we managed to look at one in walmart it's fairly compact.

If you are on FB, the group "car seats for littles" might have good info for you. Not a member, but I hear they are good at giving recs for whatever your car/situation may be.
