FF- Just splurged on a Breva Formula Pro

We both breast feed and bottle feed, probably about 50/50.
We just splurged on a Breva Formula Pro.  We had all these gift certificates from BRU, so it actually didn't cost us anything.  I'm so excited, well, my husband is super excited.  DH does a night shift sometimes so mommy can sleep, but as he's making the bottle, he has to put DS down and he screams the entire time while waiting for the bottle. This will make making a bottle in the middle of the night (or anytime really) so much easier. Hope it works well.

Anyone have experience with it?  crossing my fingers  :)

  • yes, I did mean Brezza,  Can I still use baby brain as an excuse?

  • Loading the player...
  • I've just never seen the point in one? We make a few bottles ahead of time or make formula in a formula pitcher to pour into bottles when we're ready.

  • How do you heat it up to the right temp?  Our heater doesn't have a timer, so we're always either overheating it or it's too cold and DS won't drink it.
  • We put together all of her bottles the night before so in the morning we can just grab them out of the fridge. We've never warmed them up, she takes then either room temp or cold.
  • Jeez Louis. I didn't think I was gonna get so much slack for this. I called it a SPLURGE for a reason. It's for my husband mostly since I have a set of boobs I use when I feed.

And just to be clear, it's not for the measuring. I get that that part is simple. duh. It's for the heating it to the right temperature that's the annoying part. It takes a different time depending on the amount, whether it's from the refrigerator or room temp when it started and whether the machine was on recently or if you needed to add more water to the machine, etc. Somehow, it gets too hot and then you have to wait for it to cool off before giving to baby, especially if you don't have more already premade in the fridge. You mom who have kiddos that will eat room temp or cold formula have it a but easier. My DS will refuse the bottle and continue wailing. No one ever wants to hear their kid wailing for food. It's RIGHT THERE and you can't give it to him yet becuase it's too hot or too cold.
  • Its just not something some of us would splurge on. No attacks - just sitting on the other fence. A bottle warmer costs $5 used even, free if you look around. Or babe could just take a room temp or cold bottle? Seems more like the easier solution.

I'm sure though if we all had $150 to splurge we'd all buy very different things.
  • As much as you guys says you're not attacking me, I sure do feel attacked.  We HAVE a 15 dollar bottle warmer.  That is what we are using but we are still having the same issues i mentioned. Again, if DS would take a cold bottle or a room temp bottle, we would not need to splurge.

  • Sorry you feel that way.

But myself (and maybe others) just don't see the justification for the cost. But I'm frugal (aka a nice way of saying cheap) so to me the pitcher method would be more useful, and thats if I FF, which I don't. So I don't know whats its like to prepare a bottle. However, I know if DH ever had to he'd be super lost and confused.

We're more of just expressing ways to do it without the large price tag. If you love your Brezza or whatever its called, who cares what we think? :)
  • Cried. Sigh. I give up. I should get off the internet now.

Dear moderator. Could you please delete this thread so I don't have to see it anymore? It's making not want to post anymore. Or go on the bump, which is too bad because I always found everyone here to be so supportive. Cry
  • We're just saying it's such a silly, unnecessary thing, but if you have the money for a silly, unnecessary thing, whatever, your money, not ours, we were just giving suggestions.

They're not going to delete this thread. Nothing even happened in this thread.

  • You asked a random group of Internet strangers for their opinion and they gave it too you. Sorry not everyone's lining up giving you high 5s for your purchase.

Congrats on your formula thingy, hope it makes your life easier, is that what you wanted to hear?!

  • It's definitely a splurge item. It kind of reminds me of a really fancy coffee maker. Some people get buy using a $12 percolator, others, a $10 French Press. Other people like fancy automatic coffee machines that make lots of different types of drinks and usually cost a lot more (like my husband for example ... what is it with husbands and fancy drink mixers/makers?) If it convince your husband to get up to do a MOTN feeding, the splurge might be worth it.

  • We got one of these as a gift for our shower... It literally stopped working a month later. Now it's collecting dust- I still need to call them, but I don't even want a replacement, I would rather have giftcard credit. Hope you have better luck! Loved it when it worked.
  • Head over to first tri or the ttc boards and you'll see. This was tame. Almost glitter unicorn like.
  • We love ours. Sure it's a splurge but we had the money. It's not like we chose to buy the Breeza instead of buying our baby diapers or formula. Hope you like yours too.
