What food(s) are other people and/or yourself most surprised your baby likes to eat?

My mom was surprised LO liked crab cakes; he has shared them with me twice at restaurants.

I'm slightly surprised that he likes hummus; neither my husband nor I eat it regularly.

Benjamin ate a slice of raw red onion from a salad today. That was somewhat strange. He regularly eats the lemon slices from our water at restaurants.

Olives here as well.

Last weekend she was at the ILs with MH. He said that MIL kept asking what to serve her for dinner and he kept saying "whatever we eat". She seemed to think the flavor or spice was too much (nothing was that spicy, she just wanted to feed her bland foods).

I'm not surprised by anything. I think so far the most surprising thing, according to everyone she eats them around, is tomatoes.

We've tried seaweed but she's not a big fan! I'm most surprised she likes those veggie pinwheel earths best organic corn popper things- they are NASTY! But for real like adult food, I'm not surprised by much. She eats what we eat and what we eat tastes gooood.

Everyone is surprised that she will eat all the vegetables first since kids aren't supposed to like veggies. She especially loves avocado.

Not sure. She grabbed it and ate it. I usually just give her egg and edamame. But I figure a little won't hurt. She also ate a crab cake tonight. Too bad we live on the middle. Fresh seafood would be nice

Most people aren't too shocked, she eats what we eat which is always well balanced and healthy. But my mom is regularly blown away. Apparently I was a terrible eater as a baby and she seems to have it stuck in her head that it was normal. No joke, I would eat nothing but purées until close to 12 months. And even then I had major issues with texture. So when I just hand M a handful of berries and some toast strips with hummus my mom is just so shocked. To the point where she started gushing to all of her friends on a regular basis about M's eating habits and how she is just so advanced...lol. I had to pull her aside one time and tell her that all of her friends grand kids were basically doing the same thing as M and that it really was nothing special.

Will is a big meat eater and Jack never was so it seems weird to me. Jack didn't start eating meat regularly until he was 4 or 5 so seeing Will gnawing on a piece of steak just throws me off.

He also eats everything. If it's on my plate, he wants it. He love, loves, loves salmon. What kid likes fish that doesn't come in stick form???
