How did you tell you husband you were pregnant?

Hi ladies! Just out of curiosity how did you tell your hubby you were pregnant? I'll start

My daughter has been in the hospital for a few days and that's when I found out. I was in the room with my girls when I said to them "mommy is having a baby so your going to be big sisters" my girls actually seemed excited. So when my daughter Leah saw my husband walking down the hallway she ran to him screaming "DADA DADA BABY" it was funny seeing him so confused while my co-workers knew what was going. It took him a minute but as soon as he saw my pregnancy tests you could tell that he was excited.

Re: How did you tell you husband you were pregnant?

  • I left the pregnancy test by his phone so he could see it when he woke up in the morning. Its funny, he normally goes right to the phone when he rises, but that day he just dawdled about. Finally, I was like "Husband, you should check your phone, I heard it ring a while ago." Then he saw the test and was like "So you ARE pregnant." Then grabbed the phone and went to take a dump.

  • I did nothing special really.

I tested on Tuesday morning, and when I got a positive on a Wondfo, I immediately dug out my FRERs and tried one of those, just in case.  I had a second line show clearly within 47 seconds.

I spent about 10 seconds debating on whether or not to wait until he got up on his own in about 20 minutes, or to tell him right then.  I decided that, if the roles were reversed, I'd want to know right then.

I jumped in the bed and he rolled over, and I told him.  He was happy, but sleepy, not really processing it.  Ten minutes later, he got up and said, "I thought I was dreaming!"    Haha.

  • I made him squint at the faint line, and he handed it back saying he didn't see anything.

  • I gave him a card that had a penguin on the front and said Woo Hoo!  It was blank inside so I wrote...
    We did it!
We are gonna have a baby!

  • Same as when we had our DD. Just showed him and he didn't believe it lol. I still think he doesn't really believe it. This was a surprise!

  • He knew I was pregnant before I did so when I texted him "call me"
He started laughing when I answered the phone.

  • I showed by husband the two pink lines as soon as he got home from work. The test line was quite faint though but 3 more darker tests later, he believes I am definitely pregnant!
  • I put both tests by his sink in the bathroom with a note that said "Boy or Girl? We will have to wait and see, all I know is you are a daddy-to-be? ETA April 2015." He came in to the kitchen just a grinning!

I made him squint at the faint line, and he handed it back saying he didn't see anything.

This exactly. Lol I took it on two wondfos first and I saw a faaaaaaint line. I had him come look and he barely saw it. We've been trying for a little while this time, and last was a fun gift. I told him I'd show him a "real" test later. He coaches football and he had a scrimmage that day. So I went to Target, bought a box (ok, 2), and peed on one in the bathrooms at the field. After the game, I handed it to him and told him he could get pumped now.

  • I told the hubby I got him a card for his work promotion. He opened it and was amazed I found a card with what he calls me " Mi Media Naranja" ( my other half)

And when he opened the card he glanced at the picture inside and read what I had written... He looked confused and then it sunk in ... He looked over and said is this for real babe :D

FTM nervous on what's to come due date 4/1/2015 but that could change once I have my 1st dr appt
  • I knew my husband was ready to be a father this past winter when I saw him building a snow fort outside...by himself....(he's 32, ladies...!)

We started trying not long ago, and on July 25, my test came out positive. I tied it with ribbon to a little stuffed lamb I bought on our Honeymoon, in South America.

When he got home, I told him I had a gotten him something, and asked him to close his eyes and put out his hands. When he opened them, it took him a few seconds to look closely...and I told him, he was going to be a dad.

I think he screamed "oh my god" about 15 times, while squeezing the breath right out of me! It was very emotional and exciting.

I am just over 4 weeks along today :)

  • I took a test and told him to go check in our bathroom for something. He saw the test and texted me (because we had a friend over). "So are you super ovulating or are you prego??"

He came out and have me a big hug and kiss and said he couldn't believe it. This is number two, and just like number one we weren't trying. We had stopped trying and just were relaxing and enjoying ourselves. No need to stress out about something that happens naturally, right? :)
  • I had our 17 month old put on a shirt that says "big bro". I asked him to take the test over to his daddy. My husband couldn't figure out what he had and took the test from him before he put it in his mouth. We had a mc in May so this was great news for us!
  • I bought a copy of the velveteen rabbit. His favorite book as a child. Inside the cover I wrote a quote from the book & you + me = baby. When he got the book he said hmmmm I'm a little old for this now but flipped open the book and a huge smile crossed his face when he read it then kept asking really?? So I showed him the tests....all 3 of them!
  • I had a mmc in February and when we found I was pregnant we traded in my car for a Jeep Grand Cherokee and nicknamed it 'the baby-mobile' so this time I made him a cute card with a picture of the Jeep on the front and it reads on the front "My Jeep..." then the inside reads 'Is once again a baby-mobile!' with a cute little picture of a smiling baby. He comes home from travel on Friday so I will give it to him then.
  • My husband has been with me for every test, after I pee of course, haha! He saw the line appear on my first pregnancy, and I saw it this time!
  • I tested last night, my husband happened to be working nights this week. So I put a "baby on board" window sticker on his nightstand so he saw it this morning when he got home.

  • I wasn't too sure if I would get a positive or not so I tested while brushing my teeth, I look over and saw 2 lines and my heart started racing. I walked over to him with a mouthfull of toothpaste and told him "I'm being serious right now" and he smiled and followed me in the bathroom for a second test.

  • I made him a card. On the front it had a picture of ll cool j and said "mama said...", and the inside of the card said "..,knocked me up!" (Again). We have a son who's 5 1/2 months so he was completely shocked and not ready for that news. He's happy, I just don't think he wants to deal with my pregnancy again. ;)
  • I got lucky, it was his birthday on Monday and he had picked out some running shoes that he wanted. Took the shoes out of the box and replaced it with baby shoes, a KU onesie that said Newest Jahyawk (huge fans), and a couple positive tests. When he unwrapped it he stared at it for like 10 seconds before it sunk in lol.

This literally made my laugh out loud because this is so something I would do. Whenever my hubby turns the sprinkler on to water the lawn it takes every ounce if me not to start running through it lol. We found out last Friday that we're expecting! I bought a pregnancy book and my husband came home late that night. He went to sit on the couch, picked up the book without looking and put it on the coffee table. I asked "did you see what book that is?" And he looked and said excitedly "So your pregnant!?" And I stood on the couch and said "yup" and he got up and hugged me!

  • I had been trying to think of a cute way to tell him. Originally (before I knew anything about when you can test and hoped I would ovulate earlier on in my cycle) I thought it would be cute to give him a 'you're gonna be a dad' type of book as a first anniversary gift. But our anniversary was a week and a half ago and I just got my first BFP last night so that didn't work.

I was too excited when the 'pregnant' popped up on the test last night that I just walked out of the bathroom and said, "babe, look at this". He asked if I was really pregnant. We stared at each other smiling for a while and talked about it the rest of the night.

  • I took him to our special place. It's so peaceful there and we were sitting there and I asked him " what are you thinking"? He said "about how badly I want a baby"
And I leaned in and whispered " well I brought you here to tell you that I'm pregnant" :)
He asked me 3 times if I was joking or being serious, he had the biggest smile on his face and said "wow, happy early birthday to me!" His birthday was two days later :)
  • I did a test and put it in a gift bag and when my husband got home from work I told him it was a late wedding annivsary present as we just celebrate our first wedding annivsary a few days before

Yup. DS is Tommy Pickles! Nothing like living with an escape artist.
Just another cloth diapering, baby wearing mama.

  • I told DH that I had a couple squinters but I was really confident I was KU. Then I felt stupid because it was so early (8dpo, like with my DD) and all day I'm kicking myself for even telling him, because I had to be imagining things right? The day after he was with me when I took a FRER and it came up right away but of course he couldn't see it til it really dried. He was nervous but once he could really see the second line, he could not stop smiling and talking about it :) nothing special lol

    I love reading these stories!

  • My husband walked in the bathroom right as the "pregnant" popped in the window and my jaw dropped. All it took was my looking up for him to realize he was going to be a daddy. There was some yelling of "no way!" followed by some horrific celebratory dance moves. Definitely an exciting afternoon in our household.
  • He's a pilot in the military, and he is currently away and I just found out.  I texted him a photo of the 2 positive pregnancy tests.  I couldn't wait a month to tell him in person.  Oh the life of a military wife!

  • We were at longhorn restaurant and my daughter had on a "big sister" t shirt and I handed him a paper that my daughter had colored that said "pink or blue mommys having number 2"
It's his first and he is soooo happy
  • I was a feeling a bit off and thought I might be pregnant. We had started "trying" in May. We weren't tracking my temperature or anything ... we had used the calendar method and had sex every day during the estimated period of ovulation. It was 2 days before my expected period and I took a test. Within 10 seconds the line appeared. I didn't even honk twice before I ran out of the bathroom and showed my husband who was watching tv and didn't know I was taking a test. I showed him but was so overcome with emotion, I couldn't talk. He looked at it and had the biggest smile on his face. He stood up and gave me a huge hug and I was shaking and crying - I was in disbelief as over the years I had taken so many tests (even though I was on birth control and not trying) and they were always negative so I think I was just in utter shock and so happy knowing that I could get pregnant. I think there's a part of every woman that wonders if she can conceive. The line was faint so my husband decided we should go to Shoppers and by another. Sure enough, that one was positive too! we are so excited :)
  • Oops - that should say "think" not "honk" LOL - stupid spell check.
  • I just told my hubby this morning!! Took HPT yesterday morning and it was literally so faint that I thought I was loosing my mind, took it again at 6am this morning and got another faint but clear BFP!!! We have a 3 year old and a 2 year old so we are waiting to tell them because they will tell everyone at church today if we don't! So I walked into my husbands office as he was reviewing his lesson plans for the middle school Sunday school this morning to bring him his coffee and I had written on the coffee mug with a sharpie "Ready to be a DADDY, Again?"

He just stared at me like what?!? And then was grinning from ear to ear, grabbed me and gave me a huge kiss!!!

My husband refused to let me do it secretly. Haha. He bought the pregnancy tests and required that I test in his presence.
I took my test at 4:30 because I couldn't hold my pee in anymore and he woke up and I told him it was positive!
