GTKY Date Night!

DH and I are heading to date night tonight, got me thinking what does your date night look like?

We are going to a brew festival then to dinner. It's a gorgeous day out so spending time outside is a must, and BEER!

Re: GTKY Date Night!

  • We are simple folk. Mostly we do just dinner and a movie because we LOVE movies! But doing something out of the norm is fun every once in a while too. :)

  • We are dinner and a movie people too! We used to rock climb before Merriwether so one of our friends is gonna watch her for half a day while we go next weekend!

We haven't gone out just the two of us yet since before DS was born. :( Our families live 45 min (his) and 75 (mine) away so we don't have convenient babysitters. Our families "offer" but never follow through...

Hopefully we can get a day to go to the amusement/water park before summer ends.

  • I'm with @jellysparkles‌ on being homebodies, but if we're going out - dinner and drinks usually. We're in a great town for it.
  • Hmm. Maybe going to the range and shooting for a bit, or shooting our bows together. Then dinner and a movie, either restaurant or grilling something together. ^_^

  • Pre-baby: Sushi. Metal concert.  Classical music concert.  First Thursday art walk.  Or go to one of the cheap movie theaters that sells pizza and beer.

But yeah, no date nites yet since LO got here.  A Saturday night now might entail going to a food truck pod and getting dinner, then going home and watching a movie.
  • We're more of dinner and bowling kind of people.

  • These days date night is Netflix and a glass of wine. Pre babies, we would do something like pack sandwiches and beers and go for a hike.

  • We went 4-wheeling yesterday evening, does that count as a date?
  • Thai (or Indian) food and Target. Every. Time. We are pretty predictable and I'm a-ok with that!

  • Date night? Yah, I rember those, I think...

We like going to the theatre, or out for Indian food or sushi, or to one of the local places we can walk to.

  • Out to dinner - often at a brewpub (there's quite a few that have awesome food and beer in Cleveland). Our first date night (besides the wedding we went to last week) is in two weeks!!! And my parents are keeping DS overnight!! :)

  • Winter -dinner and a movie. Summer- outdoor concerts, festivals, fairs, beer and wine tastings, walks in the park.
  • We've had one so far: margaritas and fajitas on the front patio of our favorite Mexican restaurant. We too are a dinner and movie couple but I'd love to get away to a hotel for a weekend.

@mrscrcalli‌ - you are a badass. I can't handle brewfest on a Saturday night - total shitshow! Fun, but would make me feel like an amateur with my post-baby drinking tolerance.

We typically are more "Date Day" people, or at least that's when we have a sitter on occasion. We just did beers and dinner at Sunshine Tavern with a sleeping baby in tow. That's date night for us these days. Pre-baby we would have had a few drinks somewhere afterward, but instead it was home to bedtime.

We are actually getting a babysitter at nighttime in a few weeks to do dinner and a Tom Petty concert. That will be our first night out just the two of us since March!
  • Tacos, good beer and an outdoor concert, preferably at our local neighborhood park: image
(right on the Boston Harbor, awesome view!!!)

Followed by a gin and tonic on the patio before bed.
  • I'm so jealous of this date night idea. I think we have been on 4 dates since DS1 was born over 2 years ago. We have no family nearby and the Army keeps moving us as soon as we have friends close enough to trust with our kids. We were movie people mostly. For daytime dates we love going to museums because we are nerds like that.
I have hopes and dreams of spending a night in a hotel with DH when he gets done with training/ before we move again.

We were planning a date night for next friday - driving out to an expensive steak house.  Fell through since he's going to Ohio for work though.

  • Went to a concert last weekend - Corey Smith.

That was definitely a one off though... usually it's dinner and a movie (I say usually like it's a normal occurrence lol it's happened once).
  • We do family dates now.... Not quite the same. But still fun. Usually restaurants, soccer games, festivals, etc. and there's always beer involved!

  • My MIL always drops hints about watching LO and encourages we stay out as long as we like. We haven't gone to a movie since DD was born, but we've loved going to some of our favorite sushi/Indian BYO's.

Service was really fast one night and my MIL was so disappointed we were home so soon, lol. We are so grateful to have family nearby.

This. Military life makes for very difficult date nights. Our friends/neighbors keeping moving, too...Before DS we were able to catch a movie on Netflix every so often, but w/ DD getting older (5 1/2), that's getting harder.
  • We love to go to dinner and then either a movie , shopping or a long walk/bike ride..since kids they consist more of a quick dinner and renting a movie :/
  • We were dinner and bowling or redbox movie people before. Haven't been on a date since DD was born. Our families live 2 hours away. However DH is going to ask his mom to come watch dd next month so we can go out for our anniversary.
