Hello all!

I'm new to this group and the whole online group thing. So I apologize in advance for not knowing all the abbreviations.

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to find the love of my life, unfortunately we didn't find each other till 2 days before my 39th birthday. I had decided a few years earlier that if I was single at 40 I was going to have a child on my own. Being in a new relationship when my 40th birthday came along didn't fit with my original plan. HAHA But when he told me on Thanksgiving that he was ready to have a baby with me I was elated. I have done my research and taken everyone;s advice; tracking temperature and ovulation, Robitussin/Mucinex, Acupuncture, Ovulation kits, etc. and here we are 7 months later and nothing. Every month we are hopeful and every has ended in tears.

I made the big mistake in the beginning, because I was so excited that we were ready to try, of telling all my close friends about our plans... now I keep getting the question " Are you pregnant yet?" Which doesn't help.

So now we are taking the next step and going to visit a fertility specialist this week. I don't know what to expect, but here's to hoping

I have read some posts in this group and see all the support you ladies give each other and am hoping to tap into that a little. He is SO supportive but I feel like i need some from others going through the same thing. I am so sorry for the long winded introduction and am very impressed if you are still reading this.

    Welcome! Sorry you find yourself here, though. This is a great group of women, and I'm sure you'll find the support you're looking for. 

    Good luck at your appointment! One thing I wish I would have known was that I would have an exam/ultrasound at that first appointment. I know that's not the case with every clinic, but I felt sort of blind sided, so here's your head up! :P FX for good results and a plan for you soon!

    Apr 2012   - HSG (Normal), PCOS - DH SA (low count and low motility)  
    June 2012   - Provera, Clomid, TI - BFN
    July 2012   - IUI #1, Provera, Clomid 50mg, Trigger Injection - BFN
    Aug 12 - Feb 14 - Break
    Feb 2014   - New OB referred to new RE
    Mar 2014   - New RE visit #1
    Apr 2014    - TSH  level elevated, need to retest.
    May 2014   - TSH retested, higher than 1st test. Start on Synthroid. DH SA (Normal)
    June 2014   - Start on DHEA, CO-Q10, New brand of Prenatals
    July 2014   - Cycle came on its own, b/w on CD2, TSH (normal), Femara CD3-CD7, CD14 - u/s + Ovidrel + baby aspirin regimen. IUI #1 B2B on CD15/16 - BFN

    August 2014 - u/s on CD3 normal, Femara CD3-CD7, u/s CD12, Ovidrel on CD13. IUI #2 B2B on CD 14/CD15 - BFN.

    Sorry you find yourself here, but welcome to the board. 

    Good luck at the fertility specialist! I hope it will be a relief to get some answers.

    Welcome! We're starting this RE journey at the same time. I go in on Tuesday to get results of genetic blood tests and husbands sperm test and to discuss the fact that he found endimetrioma and R tube blocked.  I hope your tests are all ok!!  This is not where I expected (feared, but not hoped) to be.  We are in it together.
    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.  
    Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
    I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.  
    July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal 
    DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF. 
    Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!) 
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
    12/17/14 - Natural BFP!

    Welcome.  Your plan if you hadn't found your SO to have a baby on your own is exactly what I am doing since I never found my SO.  I turned 40 this year and started the TTC journey...Good luck to you!

    Welcome. I didn't get married until I was 37, then started TTC at 38, I was so naive to think it would happen right away. Here I am about to turn 39, still nothing. Before my first RE appointment a friend who went through IF treatments prepared me and said be prepared for a whirlwind of tests very quickly, it was overwhelming at first, but it felt good to get some answers. Good luck!?
