So after almost 18 months DD is weaned!
For the past month or so she had cut down to only nursing once before bed. However, I volunteered for Vacation Bible School at my church last week and my husband was the one who put her to bed most nights, thus she didn't get that nursing session. And she didn't seem to mind at all. We've been slowly cutting back sessions over the past few months so I didn't have any pain luckily!
I do have mixed emotions however. I'm very happy to have my body "back" and have a little more freedom but I feel like she's officially no longer a "baby" and I do miss that special time we had together. Anyone else feel that way after weaning?
On the positive side this comes at the perfect time--I am getting my IUD removed next week and we're hoping to start TTC soon. So no longer nursing gives me some peace of mind. However the whole weaning process is definitely bittersweet.
