Exit stage left (loss mentioned)

Well, this was too short lived.

Went to see the doctor today after a very frightening trip to the ER yesterday with heavy bleeding and pain. The debris the ER saw yesterday looks like it came from the gestational sac indicating that it is collapsing in on itself. It should look rounded but the gestational sac looks more like a pear on the screen. There is also a fetus but no visible heartbeat anymore. The yolk sac is also a lot larger than the doctor is happy to see. She said the picture is "concerning" to her and there is nothing really visible on the ultrasound that makes her think this is going to be viable. She said she is in no rush to make anything happen right now (meaning to expel the tissue) and wants to wait a week so we are 110% certain that nothing can be done. So in a week, next Thursday, we will go back and check it again. If there is still no growth and the fetus still measures 6 weeks 4 days then we will decide upon a course of action there. Things look bleak and unless there is a miracle of all miracles we are out.

We are making our peace with the fact that the baby is gone and that we are going to have to proceed with the next steps to move forward and hopefully be able to try again in a few months.
