We just switched to Comcast because our contract with Fios was up and we were trying to save money.
I don't have a strong opinion. One thing that did annoy me about Verizon was that movies on demand didn't always work. There were a lot of times when it couldn't process our request. It happened during high demand times (like saturday nights when every one else wanted to get a movie too). I haven't run into that with Comcast yet.
I think their customer service is comparable, though I'm leaning toward hating Comcast more.
Comcast is evil. At least there customer service is. We seriously went without cable, etc because of leaving comcast and waiting for Fios to come into our area. We hate comcast that much.
FIOS is fine - never had any problems with it, but Verizon seems to have zero interest in keeping existing customers. I was paying $171 per month for what they advertized for $99 per month for new customers. They refused to lower my price a penny becasue that price was for new customers only. I wound up switching to Comcast. Three weeks later they sent me a letter saying if I come back they will give me the new customer price. I told them to fuck off.
We switched from Comcast to Fios 4 or 5 years ago. We haven't had any issues. We have had each of our standard boxes break but they overnighted a new box.
