Re: ****IVF Weekly Check-in****

  • Most of you may know, if you read my vent post yesterday, my appt didn't go well yesterday,  looks like I may have ovulated on bcp and lupron.  My progesterone level is high so I'm now having to stay on 20 units of lupron for another 3 weeks.  This may put my FET the first week of September, not sure yet.  My body sucks!!!

I did get the results of the genetic testing of all of our embabies yesterday.  Out of the 10 we had 4 boys that had various chromosome problems, 1 girl with chromosome problems, 1 had complete aneuploid (not really sure what that means) and of course 1 unknown that they are suppose to be retesting but not sure when yet, and our 3 good ones.  None of our babies that were abnormal had down syndrome they all had missing or extra chromosomes that wouldn't have even resulting in a pregnancy.  The thing that was the hardest part of doing the genetic testing was what if one had something that would result in a sustainable life such as downs would I want to give it a chance. Knowing the complete results makes me feel better about our decision.

QOTW:  The thing I love most about summer is laying by the pool with a drink in hand.  I don't get to do it as often as I'd like but every chance I get I'm in my pool or a friends.
    Fucking bump!!!!

  • @Buttmonkey34‌ I'm glad you are more at ease. It's really scary at first and when you get your box of medicine you may have another freak out moment. It's not really as scary as it looks. Good luck!

I only had 1 mimosa and slept, I'm such a light weight. Today is much better, I feel good so far and getting things done.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • @Pintobean39 So your estrogen was so high that they want to put you on lupron that long?  I had the option to take BCP or do a natural cycle before this one just starting, so it just seems odd that they weren't concerned with me about that.

AFM, I should start AF tomorrow.  Otherwise, just trucking along on Lupron.  I got some headaches the first 2 days with the higher dosage, but I'm used to it now.

QOTD: It used to be going to the lake...but since I gained weight, I'm not that crazy about going.  Every summer we drive up to Colorado and do some hiking.  We'll be going this weekend, so I'm looking forward to it.  Otherwise, I like the Sunday Fundays in the summer :)

    Me 33, DH 37 -- TTC since Jan'12 -- Low AMH (0.78) & endo, SA w/ low motility
    IUI's 1-3 = BFN, IVF converted to IUI 4/13 = BFN
    IVF 1.2: 8R 6M 4F -- 2 blastocysts frozen, FET 8/15 = BFP!!
    Beta #s = 445;1,098; 9,545  -- EDD 5/2 -- Team Pink!
    Camila Josephine arrived 4/30 :)
  • So excited (and nervous) to finally be starting! Estrace/Androgel start tomorrow, ER/ET will be in early Sept.

QOTW: I love summer cottaging. Thankfully both my family and my spouse's family have cottages we can visit.

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

  • @gsancho it is my progesterone that is high, it was 1162.  The highest my progesterone has ever been pre ovulation was around 150 and that was close to ovulation.  They like to see it below 60 before starting a cycle.  Since I did have a period a week after ER my progesterone dropped.  They started me on bcp after my period and then I started lupron a few weeks later both of which are suppose to suppress the ovaries so they don't produce follicles and ovulate so you don't produce any progesterone.  For some reason my ovaries just laughed at the bcp and lupron and went ahead and started producing progesterone just like I had ovulated.  Not positive for sure I ovulated but judging by my progesterone levels it looks like I may have.  They can't start the estrogen replacement until the progesterone is back down.  It is the oddest thing, my nurse and the RE were both confused, because that just isn't suppose to happen.

It's murphy's law ...... if it can happen it will happen to me.

@emmuffy  It is so exciting to finally get started.  Good Luck!
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Yeah for being PUPO @StacyLH24‌. I'm like you I can't help but POAS. I'm glad everything went smoothly, and FX those embabies snuggle right in. Keep us updated on the remaining embabies hopefully they make it just fine.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Hey ladies, sorry if I've been MIA. My clotting results came back fine, and RE said we were ok to cycle, but DH wants to take a break and wait till the next batch of cycles to jump back in. I know I'm a mess on hormones and we've got a lot of other stuff going on, so it's a logical time for a break, but it's the first time we are taking a break that isn't due to a cyst or REs schedule.
*******loss mentioned and depressing rant ahead, ignore me if you're having a bad day!!!*****

think I'm having a delayed reaction to my CP. I've cried all afternoon, probably because I just didn't let myself really let it out before now. I guess it's just registering to me that I have a big birthday coming, and I did the stupid thing of using my electronic pregnancy wheel and realizing I can't be a mom till at least May of next year. It looks like we will be cycling in Mid August, and so that's not that long, but it's already been a month since my loss, and I'm ready to move forward. I'm just struggling right now. So if I'm not myself or commenting as much, please forgive me.

  • @Mozzarella13‌ ((hugs)) I'm sorry you have been having a rough time. I get it, I've been there. I have spent many hours laying on the floor of my bathroom crying, for some reason that's my go to for break downs. I think with all miscarriages no matter how far along you are you have to go through the grieving process. When my mom was sick hospice gave me a book about the stages and I think back at this book a lot. The thing that sticks out in my head is everyone reaches every stage at different times but everyone will eventually go through each step. Just take it one day at a time.

@jessimi06‌ sounds like things are moving along. Good luck at ER.

  • ***discussion of previous CP***

@Mozzarella13 - I kept hoping after my CP that maybe there had been another embie that was still travelling and might have been able to implant.  It is amazing what crazy things we will hold on to for just a little bit of hope.  My second beta had been 2.4, so I knew that the HCG was leaving pretty quickly.  Days after that second beta, I started to get sore boobs again and felt tired and just generally icky.  When I left work that day, I sobbed.  I called the RE's office, though I never ended up speaking with anyone.  My intention was to ask how long after I would feel like that.  It was a total mind f*ck and I just wanted it to all be over so we could move on.

I'm glad that sharing my experience with you at that time was helpful.  I'm so sorry you had to go through it though.

  • @Pintobean39‌ what is it about bathrooms and crying? I usually do my sobbing in the shower. Somehow the hot water running over me while tears stream down my face is cathartic.
@StacyLH24‌ sharing is so powerful, it's much better knowing you're not alone!! And by the way, I'm praying so hard your embie(s) stick!!!

That's awesome @StacyLH24‌!!! I'm so happy for you.

Just an FYI I'm leaving town tomorrow for the next week to go to the lake house in the middle of no where for a memorial service for my husbands grandmother that died. Last year I had no cell phone service so I may not be able to do a check in next week. Of course I'll try, hopefully they have some towers up there now.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • If you want to @Buttmonkey34‌ that would be fine. I'm going to be trying really hard to check in but the whole family is going to be there so I may not be able to look much even if I get a spot of service.

@StacyLH24‌ when are you planning on testing?
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • @Pintobean39 - I'm sorry for your family's loss. I plan to start on Tuesday (7dp3dt). Beta isn't until 8/5.

    Fucking bump!!!!
  • I'm so freaking excited, I went to the bathroom and I started spotting and I'm cramping. It looks and feels like I'm about to start my period ....... And that has to mean my progesterone is finally dropping. I've never been so excited about the possibility of starting my period.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Of course you can join @viola27‌. It's very possible to have a late August ER. I've seen that some people only take bcp for a few weeks. It all depends on when you stop bcp. Once you stop you could be going for ER within 10-14 days. It's definitely a whirlwind once it starts. Good luck!
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • @viola27 - the hardest time emotionally for me was the time leading up to stimming. Once the ball got rolling, I honestly was fine emotionally. That wasn't what I was expecting at all.

@Pintobean39‌ is correct. Once you start it is a whirlwind! I stimmed for 13 days and it didn't feel long at all. All of the appointments really break it up into small pieces and that was helpful for me.

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(
