I still give a bottle of breast milk before Bed. I did that was ds1 too until I dried out around 17 months (I'm still eping). I do brush his teeth right after he finished drinking.
She has milk in her sippy cup at dinner. She goes down about an hour after that. I do offer her a last swig, but she's usually not too interested which is perfect. I'm looking forward to not having to break another habit before potty training in the future.
^^ this! We cut it from 8 oz to 6 oz successfully about a month or so ago. I think we will try to go to 4 oz in the next few weeks, but after that I'm scared.
She gets a bottle before bed. I do not think that she *needs* to have a bottle before bed (I think I could get her to sleep without it) and I have no particular plans to ditch this bottle yet.
For the mom's who broke the milk before bed habit, how did you do it?
We just cold turkey'd it. I would put him to bed then wash dishes. He would cry at first and my rule was if he was still crying when the dishes were done I would go in and snuggle, but I only did that a handful of times in the first two weeks. Now he is asleep before I leave the room.
He is also only taking one nap a day so I'm sure he is super tired
We're working on trying to drop her last bottle before bed, but the happy sigh she gives after sucking it down is too much for me to take it away from her.
Still nursing before bed. No plans on stopping right now. She doesn't need it to fall asleep, but I want to stick with nursing 2x a day and the timing is convenient. If I'm not going to be home for bed time I've nursed her before dinner and she was fine.

Its been a while since hes had any milk before bed. I used to nurse him to sleep but then i rearranged our routine bc i wanted to break that habit. I started nursing him before our bedtime routine. Id nurse him and then we'd hangout for about 20 minutes (tv, books, playing) before i got him ready for bed. That went on for a few months. He was fine with it. Now he gets milk with meals and water all day. He goes to bed about 1.5-2 hours after dinner/last cup of milk with no complaints.
Id suggest starting with giving milk before your nightly routine and see how that goes. Good luck!
I tried doing milk first, but when we got to the point where it was time for him to go to sleep he would point to the chair we normally rock in and insisted on more milk. The past few nights he's been staying awake after he's decided that he's finished with milk though. Maybe we can try again soon.
