Medela Calma Nipple

Has anyone tried this product ? It's ridiculously expensive but one came with my pump. Was curious to hear any opinions. Thanks !

    I tried it, but my baby prefers the regular medela nipples.  In fact, I'm going to get rid of the calma, so if anyone is using them, and wants another.  Let me know and I'll ship it to you, free to good home.

    My LO didn't like the calma at all. It seemed way too hard and he just screamed when we tried to use it.

    It took LO awhile to get used to it, but now she takes it just fine. It was recommended by my lc so I try to use it most of the time I bottle feed. It is ridiculously expensive though.

    I used it in the beginning when I was ordered to stop BF for 3 days due to jaundice. I was worried about him not being able to switch back and forth easily but honestly I think they are a PITA. He seems to leak/dribble so much more with them. Luckily they were a shower gift, but just today I bought three more standard medela nipples and plan on retiring the calmas.

    Off BC since 9/10;TTC since 7/11
    Me: 31 DH: 31
    DX: PCOS/anovulatory/Hypothyroid
    SA: normal
    HSG: all clear
    5 cycles of Clomid/Femara + TI
    IUI #1 (7/16/12) Femara 2.5,+ Trigger=BFN
    Treatment break Aug. 2012-June 2013
    IUI #2 (7/27/13)=BFP!!!
    Beta #1 @ 13dpiui --145!
    Beta #2 @ 19dpiui--2,550!

    @twirple I'd love to have them if your not going to use. We are having issues with DD taking Avent Dr towns etc. And just haven't had the extra case my to spend $18 for a nipple! Pm me if it'd still available! Thanks!

    It's all we use. We got 2 (at $18 each) and they work with all my pump bottles. I work full time and BF Fridays, nights and weekends when I'm home and we have had zero problems switching between the bottle and boob. The price was worth it to us.

    My little guy hated it. I tried it since the regular nipples were too fast. We know use dr brown with a premie nipple. Everyone is happier!

    Sullivan choked using the calma like every time. He was too good at getting milk out of it, and then there was too much too fast. No bueno.
