FSH injection question

My RE said we may move on to FSH injections.  I understand what that is but he said first I need a work up to get a plan for the injections??  If anyone has tried this method, please tell me what to expect or how this procedure works? 
41 & single; DX:  PCOS
TTC #1 with IUI and donor sperm
First IUI May, 2014, Clomid + Trigger = BFN
Second IUI July, 2014, Clomid + Trigger = BFN
Third IUI Dec, 2014, Femara + Follistim + Trigger = BFN
Fourth IUI Feb 2015, Femara + Follistim + Trigger = C/P :(

    I did Gonal injections for 3 cycles. It's pretty easy I just injected myself every night for 11-12 days, I think most ppl stim less than that. I had anywhere from 5-8 monitoring appts then triggered we did TI but lots of ppl do IUI. I'm not sure about the work up, I just had an HSG and the typical bloodwork first. I'm mobile so I can't tell what you have done already.

    Thank you both for the info!  I really didn't question my RE because it was just mentioned but I thought it was going to be more involved.  Thanks!!
