Food Devil vs. Food Angel

Anyone else fighting an internal struggle to eat healthfully?  Nothing is really appealing to me right now - not quite back to first trimester where certain things sounded gross, but nothing really sounds particularly good - except sweet breads (pumpkin bread) and muffins.  Before pregnancy I ate pretty strict low-grain, high protein diet.  I'd let myself have other things from time to time - everything in a little bit of moderation.  First trimester was a bust with regards to my diet - all I could eat was carbs.  I was decent second trimester - more sweets than I should have been eating, but hey, I'm pregnant...

Now, I feel like I'm battling myself on food.  The food angel's on one side telling me to make healthier choices and the damn little devil's on the other telling me to just go with what I feel like and not worry about it.  Just a vent more than anything!!

  • Same. I try to eat healthy but I give in pretty often to the junk food. And I'm not sorry about it.

  • @FamousEa‌ doing the same thing. I eat what I want when I want. As long as I get all my healthies in and indulge in sweets reasonably...it's all good.

  • I don't think I'm particularly unhealthy as much as I just can't seem to put the fork down. I feel like all I do is think about what I'm going to eat next!

  • Sadly, due to my glucose levels I have been 100% good.  The results keep me in check.  But once this baby is out of my body I am going to have to have some fries and all the sweets! Kinda (I still need to be good but a girl can dream :) )
  • I usually do pretty well. But since yesterday I polished off a large bag of Sour Patch Kids, today I got BK for lunch (I never eat out for lunch, I always have my lean cuisine and yogurt) and I just polished off another large bag of sour candies, I'm feeling pretty crappy about my choices this week. :-<

  • I am on the other side. With GD it is better for me to walk away from the sweets then to try a bite. In my kind a bite will lead to another which then leads me to eating the whole thing. Plus in the 1st trimester and part of the 2nd I was losing weight. I just started gaining last month. So the less I gain the less I have to loose. I do have to say that I am by no means denying myself food. I am just trying to make better choices when doing so.
So all this to say that my strongest will power is coming into play. And telling people that my numbers are running high gets them to usual stop pressuring me.

If I want it I eat it, I'm not slamming cheeseburgers and milkshakes all day everyday but I indulge if I feel like it.

    Agreed!
But I sure would like to have a milkshake everyday!!
    Mint choco chip.... Mmmmmm...
