Update-Beta News

Hey Ladies,

So to recap, I had some spotting (very light brown on tissue) and cramping that happened after intercourse. The doctor called it a threatened miscarriage and did a beta hcg test and also did an ultrasound. Of course there was nothing to see at 3 weeks, 6 days, but my cervix was closed. They also found a huge cyst on my right ovary (from Femara) so I am taking it easy to avoid any issues.

I got my beta hcg results they went up from 88 (3 weeks 6 days) to 212 (4 weeks 1 day) in 48 hours.

The doctor seemed pleased with that.

He wants me to come back in three weeks (7 weeks along) for a follow up. He wasn't clear about whether this would be my actual "first" pregnancy appointment, so I asked him but haven't heard yet. I don't understand why he wouldn't go ahead and do that at the time.

I am still having some cramping (very mild-not as bad as period), but have had no more spotting.

I want to be excited, but I am so nervous that something is going to wrong. Every little twinge I have, I always wonder if it is normal.

I guess this is just a part of it.

That's a good increase with the beta. Hopefully the next 3 weeks go quickly for you. I think the cyst is a good sign. Just take it easy and think positive.

You are going to worry which is understandable but try your best to be cautiously optimistic & things seem to be moving in the right direction. FX all will be great in three weeks time.

Rising and doubling (and more!) betas are a good sign. I did spot almost my entire first pregnancy, so I know how scary it can be. I hope it winds up "just" being scary and that everything turns out ok! My OB does an intake appt in the 7-8 week range with history, general questions, pap if you're not current, etc. so maybe that's what their thoughts are at that time? Good luck!
