Hi everyone! I've been lurking on the boards for awhile now, and wanted
to finally introduce myself. A
little about me: Married in July 2013, tossed the BC in August 2013. AF
absent for 5 months (after many tests, no explanation), and finally
returned in January. We actively avoided for 2 months to give my cycles a
chance to regulate. On our second cycle actively TTC we got our BFP
(5/17/14; EDD 1/26/15). A MMC was found at 8.5wks (embryo measured
6.5wks, no HB). D&C was 6/26/14 and was relatively uneventful, but
about 5 days after I started bleeding very heavily and passing large
clots. They started monitoring me after that, both via TV/US (they
suspected retained tissue) and weekly hCG checks. I'm happy to say my
last US showed no evidence of retained tissue, although now I have a
hemorrhagic cyst...ugh! I'm trying to be optimistic that this at least
shows my body is trying to bounce back and ovulate. As of this past
Monday my hCG was down to 9. Hoping it zeroes out this coming week!
Waiting on AF still. We are really looking forward to start TTC again.
Despite making some peace with our loss, I have found that the D&C
aftermath is much more difficult than I expected. It depends on the day,
but sometimes seeing pregnant women or babies will make me tear up. I
also find that it's really difficult to talk to people about this if
they have never experienced a loss before. So I'm looking forward to
finding some support here as we move forward, and offering my support to you all!
