Baby gravol

Acouple of our friends have told us to give Rebecca gravol before our 7hr Drive to Boston. I don't know if this is something I want to give her though. On their website it says Under 2 to consult a doctor.

Anyone do this before a long car ride?

If it is the same a benadryl, i wouldnt. Why would she need it. To sleep. Some kids have the opposite reaction and get wired. Also it says on the bottle not for children less than 2 unless md is aware

Looks like it's basically benadryl. Nope. I would drive at night. I just drove 8 hours at night by myself w/ the baby, and he slept the whole time, and then his schedule wasn't thrown off when we arrived. Worked great!

I would never give my kid anything extra that she doesn't need, imho.

Are you giving the gravol because she gets motion sickness? Or because you hope it makes her drowsy? Regardless, I'd probably ask the doc about it.

(I assume you're Canadian - they don't have Gravol in the states

I definitely would not do it without talking to the pedi and I would be very wary of it. I don't like the idea of giving my baby sleep meds.

This times a million. It also can have the exact opposite effect in kids, which would be pure hell on a long road trip.

We drive at night--leave around 5:30. Baby can be entertained for 2 hours, then you can knock out 6 or 8 hours without having to stop for feeding/play breaks.

Would you want your LO sleeping that long during the day anyway? It'd mess up her sleep for that night I would imagine.

It's iffy. It probably wouldn't hurt her. It could potentially have the opposite effect or screw up her schedule.

My thoughts too.. But because others were telling me to I wasn't sure.

I plan to sit in the back with her, I have some new toys and have some snacks.

Yes from Canada.

They said to give it to her to make her sleep. But I didn't really like the sounds of drugging her
