Nature seriously has a cruel sense of humor

I've been having contractions, timeable, almost every night since last Sunday. My appt today? Up to almost 2 and a very soft cervix, and the head is right there. Let's get this party started already!!!

Oh and my regular OB is out of town for 2 weeks, not one, so I get to see a random dr for the duration (which doesn't necessarily bother me. I just really like my dr)

Fan flipping tastic. This child is following her older sisters and is arriving when she feels damn good and ready. Stubborn little Leo. Like her mamma. Lol

  • I'm somewhat in the same boat. I changed doctors at 36 weeks and even though I like both docs at the new practice I like the one a lot more. I just found out he's on vacation from 8/2 - 8/11. I'm due 8/3. So unless I go into labor or elect for a RCS on the 31st there's no way he's delivering my baby. I'm kind of bummed about it but I still like the other doctor more than anyone at the other practice. Funny thing too I got the report from my daughters birth and the doctor was the assisting doctor. I had no idea when I switched to them.
Good luck to you! I hope everything progresses quickly and you have an easy birth!

  • I'm sort of where you are.  At my appt on Monday I was about 2cm, soft and thin and his head is there.  My cervix was still super high, though.  Last night I had contractions that I thought for sure were going to progress enough to go in to L&D and then, they chilled out.  Today I am having mild contractions, but nothing intense and nothing timeable.  Ugh.  I know it's still early, but, this is just a tease!!!

You're a week ahead of me, though, so, I know I have time.  I hope things progress for you soon!  :-)  These babies are almost here!!!!  :-D
  • I'm having the nightly "time-able, kind of painful contractions that last for a few hours then go away, basically ruining my sleep" game too. It sucks! I'm turning down any internal checks until week 39 so I don't know if they are causing any changes.
