I am going back to work the same day that the ILs are leaving for 7 weeks in Florida (Jan 12th). I am trying to deal with the emotions of going back to work and MIL won't stop whining about how much she is going to miss the baby. I'm glad that she loves DD so much, but it is a little over dramatic, especially since no one is forcing them to go to Florida! She even took the baby out of my arms the other night because "mommy gets to hold you all day."
Re: Just a tad self centered, MIL?
I think she's entitled to be sad and miss your LO, but if she's making a huge production out of it, I'd be annoyed too. But seven weeks is a long time in the life of baby, your DD will be a different kid by the time she comes back! And just think, you'll get seven whole weeks when you won't have to share her with your MIL at all!
I feel you about the going back to work thing. I'm going back in 3 weeks and I'm getting really nervous and sad about it already.
