Braxton hicks????

I'm 18 weeks and feeling a lot of pelvic pressure a few times a day. It doesn't last longer than 5 minutes. Along with the pressure I feel a tightening of my uterus. I usually feel it when I've been on my feet for a long time (I'm on my feel at least 7 hours a day for work). Could this just be Braxton hicks contractions or something else? I had them with my 2nd baby but these feel stronger and slightly different.

Re: Braxton hicks????

  • Thank you amw0914. That's what I was thinking too.

It sounds like Braxton Hicks to me. I would just consider it to be a warning to slow down a little and drink some extra water. You should probably mention it at your next appointment, but I wouldn't think you need to call in about it.
  • I was having something similar. My dr said to rest and drink a ton of water, and to call if there were 3+ in an hour time frame, or many throughout the day regardless of how spaced out they were.
