Like PP said, it's probably too early. I took many, and I mean many tests which were all positive. When I went in for my first appointment, I was about 5 weeks, and they didn't see anything. I came in a week later, and there was a baby. Sometimes it just takes a little time.
It's possible that you are having a tubal pregnancy or that it is simply too early to see on the ultrasound.....I think around 8 weeks is when you can really see something there. Good luck:)
My doctor said not to worry, it may be too early. ): I can't help but worry. After 3 miscarriages in the past. I finally had a beautiful baby girl in December of 2013(:. It was just added stress before that!
IF you aren't having spotting or clots - then most likely you were just too early. Normally you can't see anything until the sixth week with transvaginal u/s and 8-9 weeks with an u/s or hearing the heartbeat with a dopplar machine. If you have irregular periods, it's even more of a crap shoot.
Keep thinking positive thoughts and be patient (I know that's easier said than done
I definitely think it is too early as well. Being PGAL as well I completely understand, but they shouldn't have taken you for an U/S so soon or at least told you that you might not see anything. That being said, patience is key here. I just hit 15 weeks and they have been the longest of my life with concern.. but I had to stay positive and I have. Perhaps the PGAL board can help you too. Take care!
I just wen through the same situation. I got my first positive on the night of July 8th, and since I had been on the mini pill I thought I was around 5 weeks. Had an ultrasound 3 days later that showed nothing; maybe a tiny sac at the most. I had betas done after that and they more than doubled in the 48 hours. I had a follow up scan this past Wednesday and we saw the sac, yolk sac, and the beginnings of the fetal pole. Measured 5w6d. That means my first scan was done when I was barely over 4 weeks.
Your chances of it just having been too early are excellent. especially since you just got your positive. I know it's going to be a very long couple of weeks but I told myself "today I am pregnant and I will enjoy it." Good luck!
