Plus Size Maternity Bathing Suits

Any other plus size mommies-to-be out there that might have suggestions about what to do for bathing suits? I've searched all over the internet and local stores but am unable to find a plus size maternity bathing suit. None of the maternity stores that carry plus size clothing have plus size bathing suits. I'm at a loss and am dying to go swimming. Thanks!

Re: Plus Size Maternity Bathing Suits

  • I would try Kohls or amazon if you haven't yet.

If you cant find plus size maternity swimsuit specifically, maybe another size up in just plus size might work?

Have you tried on your current suit? I wear a tankini and mine fit for most of my pregnancy (I was put on bed rest at 32w, so I'm not sure if it would've fit at the end).

  • i found a tankini top at lane bryant that came in bra sizes. its very long so it will definitely last the whole summer/entire pregnancy and im just wearing with my swim shorts
  • I just posted somewhere else about having luck finding a plus size bathing suit from Target. It's a one piece, grey and white chevron and very flattering!

I tried Lane Bryant, but I found the sizes fit me weirdly with my growing tummy.

  • Thanks ladies! I lost 50 lbs before I got pregnant and have a variety of sizes. My old ones are too snug around the belly (they all have the compression panels in them). My tankini bottoms cut right across the belly, tried snipping the elastic but the who thing ripped instead. I was lucky enough to find a pair of the board short bathing suit bottoms in lane bryant. They had a draw string so I was able to go up a size from where I am and I can tighten them now with two inches to grow and the panty part came low enough that it would slide under my belly as I get bigger. I'm waiting for an order from old navy to see if their tankini tops work. I managed with my old top the other day but it's strapless and big above the bust so it slides - this was one of my pre-weightloss tops. I appreciate all the help and am checking out the other stores too! Thanks again!
  • I got regular suits from Kohls one size bigger since I am not huge yet.

  • I got mine from Motherhood Maternity last time around and I adored it. I'm plus sized and got most of my plus size stuff from them.

  • I got plus sized (not maternity) from boscovs....they had bathing suits that were empire waist and baby doll style so it didn't hug your belly. Also, Kmart had cheap ($22) plus sized suits that worked as well
