After looking into things like the Belly Bandit and other expensive options I ended up ordering a much cheaper (less than $20) elastic band from Amazon after my first was born. I wore it for 3 or 4 weeks after coming home from the hospital, but not to sleep in. If nothing else it helped me feel more "held in" instead of loosey goosey, especially since I had a c-section. It wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world but it wasn't terribly uncomfortable either. I can't really speak as to whether it helped shrink my tummy down during that time but I do feel like my stomach area did shrink back down pretty quickly and looked pretty normal within about a month and a half of delivery. That could have been hormones though, not sure.

@mapchick77 did it help with sneezing or coughing. Or just help hold the muscles in general? I didn't have any kind of wrap after my section and I think that was the worst part. I've seen the c-section recovery wraps and they are suppose to be a little stretchier at the bottom so it doesn't put so much pressure around the bottom where the incision is suppose to be.
I'm really interested in it. I used a Danskin waist trimmer belt when I worked out pre-preg (the material promotes body heat/sweat) and I swore by the thing. I'm wondering if the belly bandit is similar or if I can just wear the one I have?
Yes I did it with DD. I think I had a Medela then. I liked it.

FTM so no real experience but I have ordered a belly bandit. My sister's wedding is 6 weeks after my due day and I'm the matron of honor so I really need to be able to fit into my dress by then! Hoping it'll help...I do have a back up dress just in case I don't fit into the other one.
@ambershaw512 You know, I honestly don't remember sneezing and coughing being all that painful after my c-section. Maybe I was too distracted with trying to get BF-ing to work out. The band I have is probably like 9 or 10 inches wide and hooks on with velcro. It didn't reach down as far as my incision. It wasn't contoured like the Belly Bandit is so I didn't really wear it much out of the house. I didn't really go out much during the first month anyway so I still wore it a lot.

The belly bandits were on zulily a couple of days ago. That is what I used with Ds and I plan to use it again. I think it made a pretty big difference!
I just bought the shaper tank tops with DS and they helped get my belly back to normal but not as quickly as I would have liked. This time I got a wrap in one size larger than my pre-pregnancy size. It has five inches of adjustment space thanks to the Velcro so hopefully it fits. If not, buybuybaby will let me exchange it for one that does so I'm not too worried. If nothing else, I found that having something to suck in the extra at least made me feel less depressed about wearing clothes after.
Everyone who used a Belly Bandit... How did you know what size to buy?? @jpfeifer@suitern
I went off of their recommendation, but it was too small for a week or so. If I had to do it again, I'd size up. I noticed Buy Buy Baby had some on display, so that might help you with sizing if you have one near you.
@laurenwarwick, I went based off their sizing and got a medium last time. It fit immediately and then got too big quickly-I should have gotten a small. I am still trying to decide if I want to order a small thsi time because I haven't found the original one yet in all my stuff.
