CPW: What do you do with clothes that aren't fitting?

edited July 2014 in Pregnant after a Loss
If you've outgrown your regular clothes and have moved on to maternity clothes, what do you do with your regular ones? If you aren't far enough along yet, what do you think you'll do?

Edited to clarify

  • I just grouped my maternity clothes into one spot in my closet, but kept my regular clothes in there.

I am still wearing some of my non-maternity tops (blousy/long ones) at almost 38 weeks. You might be surprised at what still fits later on.

Started to outgrow? Ha I'm not sure the last time I was able to fit regular clothes! ;)

I left my dresser alone, but put all of my non-maternity that was in the closet into space bags and into the storage closet. Close by when I need it again, but out of the way for now.

  • I've already moved out some of my shirts and dresses that don't fit well into another closet. My closet is pretty small and it makes more room for other things that way. Also, I won't have to remember which ones don't fit.

My larger boobs have already made some shirts no longer fit.

Haha. I guess I should have just said, "If you've outgrown." Oops.

  • I put SS because in my closet and dressers I have clothes that fit me when I got pregnant and then clothes that haven't fit me in maybe 2 years or more (well they fit but they weren't comfortable and I probably needed to lose 20 lbs to make them comfortable).  I'm going to remove all of the clothes that didn't fit and store them in the attic to make room for the maternity clothes.

i don't have a lot of closet space, so most of my stuff (except dresses, jeans, and button-down shirts) gets stored in a dresser.  yeah.  so anything that doesn't fit went into the tote box the maternity clothes came out of and will be getting put away.

  • I put ss because it's a bit of a mix; I've placed some pre-pregnancy clothes in storage containers, did a purge and got rid of some, but still have a mix of maternity and "regular" clothes in the closet; some dresses, skirts and tops still fit...

  • When we moved last month, I filled the middle and bottom drawer of our dresser with clothes that don't fit anymore.  The top is for underwear, pjs, etc so I still use it some.  In my closet, I have maternity clothes on one half and stuff that doesn't fit, but didn't fit in my dresser on the other.  As stuff stops fitting I move it to the non-fitting side and I think I've got like 2 shirts and a couple of tank tops that fit still from my pre-pregnancy clothes.  Everything is mostly just WAY too short now.

  • I started to wear my maternity clothes at 22 weeks, but some of my regular clothes still work fine, like looser tops, stretchy bottoms, and some dresses. I keep everything in the closet but have a shelf for my maternity tops that are more casual (t-shirts, tanks) and maternity bottoms, and hang up anything more blousy/dressy and maxi dresses, with my other clothes.

I did the exact same thing-  my maternity shirts have their own space in the closet next to my regular clothes.
