Pretty well. My baby sleeps a 4-5 hour stretch and then goes back to sleep.

Re: Sleep Poll

  • DD is going through some adjustments right now so her sleep is all over the place at night.  During the day she takes 2 solid 2-2.5 hour naps and a shorter nap late in the afternoon.  At night, sometimes she will sleep til 6, last night she was up at 2 and 5, last week she was up 3-4 times a night because I had just gone back to work.  My poor boobs don't know what is going on.

  • We are somewhere between the top two options. T had been sleeping very well all through the night for a month or two (8-10 hours) but now is waking twice tonight. Her long stretches somewhere between 5-7 hours, then she eats, then has another 3-4 hour stretch, and eats, and will often go back down for 3 or 4 more hours after that.
  • LO had been sleeping a 9 hr stretch like clockwork but the last week has been waking once or twice a night. Not sure if this is the 4 month regression or what

  • DS sleeps a good 4-5 hr stretch when he first goes down at night but we struggle after that .. Sometimes sleeps another 3 hr stretch but the last few nights waking up at 12:45 and then up every 2 hrs or so :(
  • My twin girls don't wake up and need to eat from the hours of 830-6. However they do need their pacifiers replaced 1-3 times a night and then fall right back asleep. So I get up for 3 minutes 2-6 times a night.

    Ella - 10/19/10
    Julia and Aubrey - 4/3/14

  • DS was sleeping 6-8 hours, eating, then going back to sleep for 2-4 hours. Now he is waking after 4 hours, eating, sleeping an hour, eating, sleeping 2-4 hours, then up for the day. I guess we hit the 4 month sleep regression at 3 months.

  • This poll is making me depressed! We got our first 5 hours stretch last night. Usually she's up around 11, 2, 5 and 7 for good. Last night was 11, 4, 6:30 for good. It was heaven.

I picked "I'll explain below" because from 6 weeks through 12 weeks he slept pretty well. Then baby went through some regression and the past 2 weeks have been very sad in the sleep department. But last night was much better than the past few so I'm hopeful we will move out of this phase soon!

Had our first baby, Samuel Robert, on April 17, 2014!

  • He usually sleeps through from 7.30-8 ish until 5.30-6 ish.  Last night he woke up at 12.30 am for the first time ever, so I am hoping it's the growth spurt and that it wont continue.  So I answered the first.
  • She's sttn, but I'm not. I need to work on that.

Yup. My baby is a better sleeper than I am most nights.

  • We have regressed quite a bit in the sleep department over the last month and I am losing my mind! He has been waking up every hour or two, and I know it's not because he is hungry because he usually falls back asleep immediately when I pick him up or he only nurses for 5 mins then he is back out.

We've tried no swaddle and one arm out and that just makes it worse. He is always very restless while sleeping though, and I think his tummy hurting wakes him up. I just don't know what to do to help him feel better :((

Anyone have a similar situation and found anything to help?
  • Ugh, we were doing 8-5/6ish. Around 3m3w DS decided to start waking more and more in the middle of the night to the point last night (4months today) he fought going down until around 9:30 and slept 2 hours and was up every single hour until 530. It took us a good 20-30 minutes each time to get him back to sleep too.

@lzeemin - we can't swaddle both arms anymore since DS is rolling. We're doing 1 arm out for now and when I put him down I lay my arms across his body and push his arm down with my hand for pressure. I very, very, very slowly let up on the pressure and run out of the room. It seems to work for a little while. Or it works better than whatever other methods we've tried so far.

  • @Rogue237 we have the same thing going. Down at 8ish, up at 1130, 2, 5 and then every hour after that until I give up & get up. Pretty brutal, but I do like the cuddle time, so I'm not doing any sleep training yet. He's 3.5 months now, if there is a 4 month regression I might just lose it..
  • Baby sleeps well. I have to be sedated to sleep....
  • Jack has been sleeping exactly 8 hours every night 8/9pm-4/5am since he was 6 weeks old. As of lately he occasionally pulls a 9 or 10 hour night, but he's otherwise pretty consistent. No sleep training, he just started doing this on his own. When he wakes up in the morning he eats and then goes back down for 1-3 hours one or more times before he is up for the day. He still does naps during the day, with at least one big nap (2+ hours).
  • Mine usually goes down sometime between midnight and 1 AM, then wakes up to eat at 8 AM or so. Then he'll usually go back to sleep for a couple more hours.

  • LO sleeps from 8-around 4 or 6. Then usually back to sleep until 8 or 9. HOWEVER, his naps are shit. Three 25-30 minute catnaps.

  • DS had been sleeping all night, from 7-5. When I went back to work he started waking up again, usually only once around 2ish. So we're still getting a 7-hr stretch. No complaints here.

@macynsnoop‌ - there's got to be nothing to regress too, right? RIGHT?!? Haha
  • @livin541‌ I asked the same question in another post called "omg the 4 month sleep regression sucks" (sorry can't link, mobile) and got some great advice I tried tonight and it helped. Not sure if u saw it

  • I am afraid of saying that she is "STTN" because the last time I bragged about it on Facebook and jinxed myself. We are are just getting back on track to "STTN" but I would say it's not consistent yet.
