Name Opinions :)

My husband and I are have a difficult time deciding on a name for our little man. Currently, our front runners are Eli and Emmett. Our possibly mn is Hunter and our Last name sounds like "wall". The problem we are having is our dog's name is Ellie and our niece's name is Eliza. Is Eli too close to those names? Let me know what you ladies think!

    I love both. Bless your precious doggy, but your son will outlive her, so don't base a name on her, but Eli and Eliza can get confusing depending on how they pronounce her name.

    I voted Emmett but I think both are good names. I agree with PP and would not worry about the dog if you prefer Eli. It's not even the same name so I don't think it's an issue, but even if it was, I don't think it's a big deal. I also wouldn't worry about your nieces name being similar. It's still a different name so I don't think it's a problem.

    I voted Eli but I like both a lot as well. And I'm totally with the PPs. I wouldn't worry about the dogs name or your niece. I've known cousins to have the same names before and it was never a big deal so similar names, not even close to an issue in my book.

    I understand the whole dog thing, but just try to get it out of your mind and pick a name you like. Personally I voted for Eli. Good luck!

    I voted for Eli, because it's one of our top 4 choices right now.  I like it way better than Emmet.  BUT, if I had a dog named Ellie, I wouldn't be able to name my kid Eli.  Even if I had a previous dog named Ellie, I couldn't name my kid Eli.  They're just too similar.

    I like both names, but with the additional information you provided (dog and niece names), I voted Emmett. Really can't go wrong with either, though!

    Both names are great. I prefer Eli just slightly and wouldn't worry about the dog.
