NWMR: Quicken App

Does anyone have the app for Quicken?  I really want to start keeping track of our expenses, but I can never keep up with properly coding the daily transactions in regular Quicken.  I'm thinking that maybe if I could do it throughout the day on my phone, it would really help.  Does anyone use this app?  I've watched the preview video but I can't tell if you can edit transactions.

No help on Quicken, but I highly recommend mint.com. I'd say it does a pretty accurate job of properly classifying about 80% of transactions on its own. The rest are pretty frequent places that we frequent, so I set up rules, and it gets it down to automatically coding at least 95%.

The only thing that is sometimes annoying is that you can't track actual cash spending. But let's be honest, I'm way too lazy to track cash spending.
Thanks for this suggestion!  I knew about mint.com but I'd never really looked into it.  I think I'm going to give this a try and see if it will work for us.  Thank you!

  • I am a huge fan of mint.com, but you need to do your research and decide if it is right for you. You need to give them your banking information and password to open an account and a lot of people are not comfortable with that (I gave them DH's old checking account info, not the account that we actually use with all our saving etc).

I have also heard good things about "You need a budget" but have not used it personally.
