Still new to BBT. Was chart stalking on FF and noticed people labeling their charts with flat temps. I have had flat temps for the past four days - is there any significance to this?
i had a lot of flat temps this month. Now, i use a thermometer that only goes to the tenth, not the hundreth, so obviously there is a greater chance for flat temps in this case. i don't think it's a problem or anything. Mine were the same for almost 10 days (with one .1 degree dip during that time) but after O they clearly went up by .4 degrees. As long as you can tell when you O it's not a big deal.
I would take your temperature once at night though, just to make sure that the thermometer has the ability to give you other temps. I did that once or twice. As expected, my temp was higher at night, so i knew that there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the thermometer, and that my resting temp was basically just the same every day.
Mine have been pretty close the past few days but my sleep schedule is finally something approaching normal so I'm just glad to not have as wild fluctuations day to day.
As long as your thermometer is getting accurate readings (not reading 97 when you're 98, etc) you should be ok. You're looking for an overall pattern.
I have a target brand bbt and it definitely has favorite temps. I test it by temping again later to see if my temp shifted up to more of a daytime number, just to be sure I'm not stuck on 97.18 permanently.
