Trouble TTC

YET AN OTHER UPDATE ON THE NO SEMI NEW GUY

I finally got my referral all straightened out! Got an apt with the new RE (Almost 2 hours away) and they can't see me until 9 in the morning in the middle of sept! But really I kind of figured that it would be a long wait so two months isn't that bad. We can always just get really good at practicing ;P ok! so my question is, has any one been to an RE what happened your first apt? I am really hoping that I'm not driving two hours in my gas guzzler for just yet an OTHER blood draw. (I have an auto immune disease my doc says isn't connected to infertility and I get my blood drawn every 6/8 weeks) I swear I don't have any blood left to give!!!! any advice? What questions should I ask? will they do a pelvic exam? HELP hahaha

Hi sorry you have to wait so long but glad you got the appointment! First time was a lot of talking with the RE, a lot of questions for DH and me about our habits, health and history. Had paperwork and records completed prior to meeting. No
bloodwork (but left with a prescription for an extensive panel). There was a brief pelvic exam. Hope that helps

  • We did a whole lot of talking at our appointment. We reviewed the shit ton of tests my OB had done and the RE did a u/s to check out my ute & ovaries. He ordered 1 blood test and an HSG which I'm waiting for insurance to approve. They asked that both DH & I be there which I would recommend. DH is getting a SA which was ordered that day too. ETA: have your docs send your medical records to the RE ahead of time. If (s)he is able to see what has been done & when, you are less likely to repeat tests.
my doc hasn't done ANY test. he just referred me out. at least he hasn't told me if he has done anything yet. I haven't seen and OB/GYN since we moved here (I get my pap every 2/3 years always been perfect) My old OB back home says I have GREAT hips and a, and I am quoting here "Beautiful uterus" HAHAHA what ever that means! DH has already gotten his exams done he is in perfect help he has good swimmers! what questions did you ask when you went in? what should I ask? I have no idea what I am walking into. should I google anything before showing up (And the RE received all my medical records yesterday I believe or the day before not sure) but when I made the apt today I did ask if there was anything I needed to bring in and she said no. they have my records and DH test results already.

  • Can you get your blood drawn for IF and your immune disease and sent to the same lab? Sometimes they can use fewer vials because they can double up?

Our first appointment all clothes stayed on, but I know that if people are at the right time in their cycle, sometimes the nurse will do a baseline ultrasound.
