Anyone else just feel like they look blah?

Anyone else feel gross? I am normally very put together and feel like I look like a hot mess :).  From not being able to get my nails and hair done to having to use "natural" makeup and beauty products, no self tanner, and not my normal skin products for acne I am definitely not looking too hot. I know it sounds vain and is all worth it....but I feel gross. What beauty products / regimen have you stopped using?

Re: Anyone else just feel like they look blah?

  • Oh I'm totally gross. Like I need to drag myself into the shower STAT! I haven't touched makeup in almost a week. Can't wait for this awful 1st Tri to be over. It was this bad with my first child but it's amazing how you forget the horrid details.

Pray tell... why can't you get your hair and nails done?  I had a hot stone pedi this past weekend that was better than sex.

  • You can get your hair done. I got mine done today! I have only used natural stuff since my 1st pregnancy. Bare minerals is as good as any other make up.
  • I look like ass. I hate the in between blump stage.

  • My doctor told me I had to wait till I was out of the first trimester (5 week count down) to get my hair done. I also read certain nail polishes aren't safe to use when your pregnant. Maybe that is going a little overboard. I also normally use a purple shampoo to brighten my blonde and not sure it is safe...going to check with doctor next week at 8 week visit :)
  • I haven't change any of the products I use and I still feel like I look blah.  I'm pretty sure I do.

I heard the big 3 are ok... Essie, OPI, Sally Hansen. They don't have the 3 free!

ETA in reference to nail polishes!

  • I haven't changed anything. Got my hair done recently, still going to get manis/pedis and still using all of my make-up. The only thing I won't do while pg is get a keratin treatment on my hair, which I usually get a couple times a year.

  • lol love that we're all in the same boat. Since I haven't told any friends/family/ coworker they are probably all wondering why I have let me self go all of a sudden....they will know soon enough.

Thanks for the info on the nail polish. My nail salon uses OPI...looks like I am going to go get my nails done this weekend :).
  • Jamberry sells nail polish that is "5 Free", so no dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde substances, formaldehyde resin or camphor.  It's also gluten-free and vegan-friendly.  Just in case you were wondering.  Lol.  I like it, it seems to work well.

I feel like blah. Bloated. Bloated. Bloated. I have no energy to try and make myself look good either. Blah! :((

But I'm appreciative of this blah feeling because it'll all be worth it. :)

  • I am waiting use my topical rosacea gel until I get clearance at my Aug 1 appt. I could call, but I'm lazy. And I hate calling the OB from work before I'm "out." I have no privacy. However, the redness and bumps are getting worse (smack on my right cheek), so I may have to get over it.
