I did not read the whole article. The thing that got me is the Scottsdale mom. She left her kids in the car Widows UP in the heat. Arizona is a whole different animal during the spring and summer months for heat. So yes I grew up in the age that you entertained yourself. But I think with the generations now is that electronics are to keep kids entertained and adults do their thing. There is no more human interaction with people anymore.
Yes parts of this I agree with, like trusting mom's to do their job. But other parts I don't, like the Scottsdale mom. I live/grew up in Texas. Leaving kids or pets in cars immediately calls for cops and broken windows.
I didn't like this article very much. I found it weird that the author kept dropping the race bomb "Oh my friend is white and therefore looks professional" WTF?
Also, I hated this line:
"I grew up in the ’70s, when we kids were expected to entertain ourselves, which meant, largely, that we were left on our own."
^that doesn't make it okay to do today. Things are different than what they were 40+ years ago
It doesn't matter what race or sex you are.... Or where you live
People will call 1. If they feel you are Or Could be endangering your child
2. If they feel like someone is mistreated
3. ANYTIME you leave a child in the car or crying too long.
For all they know you could be kidnapping them or hurting them. They don't know and their guilt over not calling kills them. That is just the way it is. The lady who left her child in the park should be arrested. That is exactly how kids get abducted and sexually assaulted!
The Scottsdale mom is inexcusable. I understand she is trying to get a job but it's Arizona. I live in Phoenix, work in Scottsdale. It's unbearable sitting in the car for a couple of minutes in the heat. It doesn't even matter if the windows are all the way down. We've had people interview and bring their children to sit in the lobby. Obviously it's not the best first impression but this has become such a problem in Arizona that I'm sure most employers would rather have a potential employee show up with their children to wait rather than have their name associated with a terrible tragedy.

Baby #2: Emmeline Grey - August 2016
Baby #3: BFP 9/7/18 | EDD 05/24/19
Protective custody for what? He wasn't left unattended.
There has to be physical evidence for an officer to do that and he clearly wasn't being harmed
I still don't agree with this lady though. She is way over dramatic
