multiple kids and clothes storage strategies

I'm re-organizing all the kids' clothes since my bins got kind of messed up after we moved. I'm pretty much just separating by sex and putting everything in bins by size. However, I keep outerwear all separate, plain white onesies separate, and I am thinking of doing a swimwear box. That way, if we need swim stuff off season or for guests or something I can find it. What do you think? Is this a good idea? Any other storage tips or ideas you use?

Re: multiple kids and clothes storage strategies

  • I have a box for each size and then separate box for things like coats, swimwear and sleep sacks.  I find that these things don't necessarily fit at the correct clothing sizes and I hate searching through boxes to find what I need.  Things will get  a lot more complicated if I ever have a boy. :/

  • I only have girls, so I have bins based on size.  Swimsuits basically all live in a drawer in the bedroom.  I have sizes 2-10/12.  DD3 is in a 4 or 4/5 normally but is so skinny she can still wear a 2T bikini/tankini.
  • I loved that I had a swimwear box when I was packing for our warm weather vacation last February. This year I'm planning on using ziplock bags to separate the swimwear sizes since I think I can get nb-4/5t all in one box.
