First IUI... Waiting to do Beta in 2 days

Hi Ladies,

so I did my first IUI two Thursdays ago. I am supposed to do my BETA on Thursday but took a HPT today and it came out negative. now I know that maybe my levels were not high enough but could you get a negative HPT and a positive Beta? how often does this happen? I'm scared that the IUI might not have worked and well the emotions of going through this multiple times makes me sad. I know there is still a window of hope with the blood test but I don't want to have false expectations either.

any help and advise would be great. thanks.

Thank you. I need to stay positive but I don't want to have false expectations either. I keep hoping that maybe the levels are just not high enough yet. the 2ww is torture!

Yes try and stay positive! Unfortunately I tested with HPT's for the past 3 days and got negatives. I had my beta yesterday and that was negative as well. It was my first as well. If this IUI didn't work then keep moving forward and keep faith that it will happen! Hugs to you and good luck with your beta!!!!

It is possible to get a negative HPT and a positive beta if your hcg levels are lower than what the HPT can pick up.

If this cycle doesn't work out for you and you're planning to stick around, you should intro on the board and give us a chance to get to know you.

What do you mean intro on the board? sorry this is the first time I use a board and I had asked a question on another one and was shot down for not knowing HOW or WHAT was allowed to be asked or said. this whole process is hard and well I cant call the doctors every time I have a questions so I though talking to others would be helpful.

Try to stay positive as other have advised. I had negative tests 10 and 11 DPO and had a feeling the tests were correct. My BETA did in fact come back negative, but since I had already taken the HPT I was much more prepared when I go the call, but of course it isn't over till the BETA or AF show up.

I mean to introduce yourself. This board is a community, as are many of the boards on the bump. We're not just here to answer people's questions. We get to know each other and offer support to each other through this process.

As I said, if you're planning to stick around on this board, post an intro. Offer support to others. Get to know us, and let us get to know you.

ETA: Also, you were given a hard time on the Infertility board because you posted about "BDing" on a board full of women going through IVF. It wasn't the appropriate place for that question, and so they made you aware of that.

Thanks BethKate2 but how do I post this intro. is there a tab or another place to do this? I am sorry but I don't know how to. I do want to share with you girls as that is why I reached out to the site to begin with. Having others who are going through it makes it easier. Please let me know how. thanks.
