I'm not sure if its made national news but t
here are a lot of wildfires burning in the "valley" I grew up in and call home now, at least 4 major right now. Thankfully my immediate vicinity is not threatened but we have friends, family and childhood homes in areas that have been evacuated. Last night we basically lost the little town of Pateros, just up the river from Wenatchee, and Brewster, located just across the Columbia River from Pateros, is also under evacuation orders. The tiny little "town" I grew up in (Plain, WA) has also been evacuated because of another fire. Please keep these people, their families, pets, livestock, homes, ranches, etc. in your hearts. This fire season is proving to be one of the worst in 20 years.
=((
***UPDATE***
Its raining!!! Finally raining! And not the kind that comes with thunderstorms and more lightening and more fires. Just a nice steady, soft rain that started in the middle of the night last night & is still going halfway through the morning. *Whew* lots of happy, tired firefighters finally able to take a breath today.
Thank you all for your T&Ps!
