Heavy legs and achy hips?

Anyone else experience achy hips especially at night? So painful! And when I walk (I commute an hour everyday and take the subway and train to work) I feel like I'm dragging my feet because my legs feel so heavy. I was 115 pounds pre pregnancy and now I'm 130 at 20 weeks. Could the extra 15 pounds be the cause? I'm guessing it doesn't get easier here on out hehe :-/

Re: Heavy legs and achy hips?

  • Yes! I have been feeling this way yesterday and today. My legs feel heavy/achy and my back hurts too. So annoying. I'm just uncomfortable.

  • Yes, it's also your hips moving and learning to balance your new body
  • I'm a wedding photographer and definitely am feeling it on days where I'm on my feet for 6-8 hours. Taking a nice warm shower helps me and just trying to rest the next day as much as I can: )

  • My hips in general and messed up from sports injuries but during pregnancy the pain gets pretty outrageous. Keeps me up some nights because we all know that Tylenol does wonders for pain. I usually use my boppy body pillow to even things out and some nights propping my legs up helps also. Warm baths and stretching usually help the most though.

  • Nope, noticing it too at 18 weeks! I just got back from a 5 mile walk and realized how much I'm already slowing down and it was humbling. I'm hoping these legs/ hips can keep up the working out as long as possible.
  • I am 17weeks and 2days along with my second and am experiencing this as well. So far i have gained 10lbs and find it hurts when i have been very active
  • I have not gained any weight yet but I'm having the same issue doc said it's just chemicals releasing in the body to loosen joints and prepare for labor and pressure from baby. The chiropractor has helped me.
