Baby is SO LOW

I'm feeling lots of movement today very very low, and I've even started feeling sore in the nethers. It's not comfortable, and I'm wondering if it's just his position today or if I'm in for feeling this for some time yet. Silly baby...move back up to the belly button!

Anyone else feel like baby is sitting really low? :/

Re: Baby is SO LOW

  • I had a growth u/s earlier this week.  Baby Boy is breech, and I feel him kicking very low every day!

  • I've been carrying really low from the beginning. Definitely didn't get the second tri break from peeing constantly and back pain...he's been like a little boulder in there. I've been so jealous of everyone's perky bumps! Mine only stopped looking like a beer gut about a month ago.

  • I am having the same issues. LO was breach at my last ultrasound about 4 weeks ago so I am not so sure that is still the position he is in now, but there are definitely times that I get quite sore because of the kicking in that region as well.

  • YES! I have been feeling baby so low lately, it is crazy! I was wondering if it is going to be like this from here on out or if baby has just been hanging out there the last few days and will eventually move. Hoping it's the latter. ;)

  • At our MFM appointment on Monday we got to see Nathaniel (baby a) kick my cervix repeatedly. The tech and I had a good laugh about it since I had been complaining about it feeling sore just before she started.

  • Yes, this baby is so low! I feel a lot of movement very low in my pelvis. But I think it's her head/shoulders and hands. Her feet, I think, are wedged into my side.

Sometimes I think my bump looks like it's hanging off my body. And I have been enduring moderately painful pelvic pain for about eight weeks, now (thankfully, it has not actually gotten worse, even though I've gotten bigger.)

Hope the discomfort improves for you soon!

  • Yes, baby girl's head/shoulders/arms/hands always thud really low in my pelvis or against the waist of my pants. Of all her movement, this is the only kind that annoys me a little.

  • I have a low rider too. At 29weeks some people at work still say it just looks like a burrito belly. The weirdest thing though--the other day after sitting for ~25 min, when I stood up my nether regions were completely numb!! I asked the doc about it and she said baby was likely sitting on a nerve that made my vag fall asleep! Not a pleasant feeling!
  • I'm the opposite problem! This baby is practically in my throat!

    There's just no winning!

Same for me! Sometimes it even feels like her toes are digging into my bladder and/or cervix.

  • My son was always up high and this little girl is 99% of the time really low. It does get so uncomfortable and can be painful. I keep trying to convince her to go higher but already she's not listening.
  • I'm right there with you. Little girl's head is way down there. Fortunately she's moved up a bit because last week it was making me very feel swollen and sore down there... and I was waddling a lot more than usual.

  • Baby was low for me as well and making me super uncomfortable. There is still plenty of time for baby to move around in there. If only I could say "sweet heart, just move a few inches up please!"

I'm the opposite, baby girl lives in my ribs lol which is not terribly comfortable either. Sometimes I feel kicks down low too but mostly she stays pretty high anymore.

  • She loves to be low down!! At first when she went way down there I would feel headachy it was so uncomfortable! Now I will notice a pressure on my bladder that is then relieved when she moves a bit. I went to a movie last night and she just camped out way down low! I like it so much better when I can feel her kick near my belly button!

  • DS1 was always in my ribs. DS2 is low rider. He moves all over the place, but consistently stays low. My bits are swollen and my cervix is always either sore or numb.

  • My LO is super low all the time too. I really only get relief if I'm laying on my side.
  • Yes! Some days I feel like I never get out of the bathroom with the constant peeing. She makes me waddle sometimes from all the pressure.

  • Yes. Expecially lately. I was commenting end of last week and this weekend that baby felt like he was resting right on my crotch. It really made my hips and lower abdominal muscles feel like they were all stretched and out of whack.

He seems to have moved back up a bit, so the pressure isn't as severe now.

     It's a BOY! Est. Due Date - October 17th

  • Yes. At my last U/S, the tech couldn't believe she had to keep going lower to see his whole head. It's very uncomfortable ( but at least I don't have heartburn yet!).

  • Same here! Has been this way since I could feel the baby.  I was getting a ton of kicks to the bladder last night.  That was interesting.  Baby sits low and to the right side.  Needless to say I am having some interesting back pain.

  • I'm also carrying super low. It gets so uncomfortable in the pelvic area a lot and sometimes I feel like lo must be camped out on my bladder. I guess there are plusses and minuses with wherever you carry!!

  • He's both very low and very high. I think he's laid back like he's resting on a hammock with his head in my pelvis and his foot right under my rib cage. I get pressure low in my pelvis like he's moving his head/arms, punches around my belly button, knees to my side, and kicks under my rib cage. A few times a day, he'll try to stretch out more. Hopefully this means I will have a very relaxed infant.
