Yeah, I didn't get past the first several posts, but wow.
Me:41 DH: 46 high count but poor motility & morphology TTC on and off since 2005
July 2012: Infertility tests started at OB/Gyn, HSG and HSN all clear Sept 2012: IUI #1 w/Clomid - BFN Oct 2012: IUI #2 w/Clomid - cancelled due to cyst Nov 2012: IUI #3 w/Clomid - BFN
Break to move and find new PCP, OB/Gyn & RE Sept 2013:first appt with RE Nov / Dec 2013: IVF #1 with ICSI split Dec 6: Retrieval, 4 retrieved, 2 mature, 1 fertilized Dec 11: Transferred 1 (Day 5) Dec 30: HCG Beta, 4980. BFP! 1 little bean!
I like how she says in the daycare post she never felt her kids were in danger but in the post which she brings up her FIL she flat out says "what if he's watching my kids"
People often forget when you post things online in ANY forum it can be used against you....even in court....this could bite her in the ass if she's not careful...
None the less, I'm with PP, if you're too nervous to change unless you're under the covers, you probably shouldn't open a day care at the home of a RSO.
I just don't get all of those white knights coming in to defend her. IJS
She seems to "forget" a lot of important things...i don't want to send my kiddo to her she may forget that they're even there (aside from the main issue of FIL is a RSO)
I read that whole post the other day and it turned my stomach. It doesn't matter that the OP is "a good mom" it's about FIL! I wonder if she planned on disclosing that little gem when meeting with new parents/clients. "BTW, it's no big deal but the owner of this house creeps on young girls with hidden cameras. Hope that's not an issue."
In the school where I work, all visitors have to turn in their license for a background check on the spot. He would not be allowed passed the lobby!
Yikes. I have made some dumb decisions in my life, and I know that everyone is allowed to make their fair share of bad decisions... but really! How do you "forget" that your FIL is a sex offender, regardless of the age?
Honestly, she's an idiot! How is that something you forget? This is a perfect example of why mothers need to do their research prior to picking out a day care for their kids.
I thought I read somewhere credible that sex offenders and psychopaths can never be "cured". Anyone else ever heard of that?
The recidivism rate for sex offenders is something like 90%. So it's not that they can't be cured, it's just highly unlikely.
Edit: I just looked this up, and the official recidivism rate (defined as being arrested for another sex offense after serving time for one) is closer to 20%, so there you go. Not as scary as I thought, but still pretty high.
July lurker here (in L&D about to be induced in the morning) with nothing better to do. All I can say is wow! I couldn't get past page 3 before I just couldn't stomach it anymore. Can't believe her BMB all white knighted her like that... About a sex offender!!! BSC if you ask me.
While obviously a much more serious issue, it reminds me of the thread in which a BMB passionately defended a regular bitching about her in-laws buying the rest of her Pottery Barn nursery but not the $1000 glider she had worked *so hard* to match to her decor--said regular eventually stole the board's gift money for another member who suffered a loss (but eventually gave it back). We need to remember not to lose our collective mind if one of our beloved regulars goes off the rails.

Sex offenders can be "cured", pedophiles cannot.
A Sex Offender can be an 18yo who had sex with their 17yo gf/bf. It can be a sexter, a drunk who passed out naked in their front yard, a couple who were caught having sex in a public park, etc.
I personally know a "Sex Offender" who, as a teenager, was 6mo older than their partner. Parents got upset about a missed curfew, cops were called, and they are now a Sex Offender for statutory rape, since the partner wasn't legally old enough to consent.
The title gets thrown around a lot, but its the same title for "teenage mistakes" as it is for serial rapists.
The "crimes"/crimes are usually listed on the website, with their addresses. But not everyone bothers to read the "why".
So many things wrong with this! I get that sometimes people are left with no choice and do what you have to do in order to put a roof over your head and take care of your family....BUT, sounds like they just moved in to save money to buy a house? I get that, however, I personally would rather make sacrifices elsewhere. She stated she is not comfortable even changing into her pajamas or breastfeeding her child living in this home. WHAT?! How can you live like that?
And then to want to bring other people's children into this type of situation? Just....ugh.
I lurked the whole thread(s) and have come to the conclusion that March 14 is nucking futs with the exception of a few people. Their stupidity amazes me.
I read that the other night and DH and I were discussing it. It's disgusting that her H would be ok with her and his kids living in that situation. I would rather live almost anywhere else than there.
