Trouble TTC

Progesterone levels are in...

Hi ladies, so my progesterone levels came in at 9.5. My husband took the call and like all men just took the address and phone number of where to pick up meds. I didn't get to talk to the nurse and I have so many questions, I have called the dr. office back but now I don't get an answer. I believe I will have to do suppositories (DH words "you will have to do vaginal meds") and I'm not sure what these levels mean, anyone else with similar results?

Re: Progesterone levels are in...

  • @JlambertJen thank you! I am on CD21, and the levels are 9.9. DH remembered that the nurse said they want it 15+. It was my cell phone the nurse called but I wasn't able to take the call. I will definitely call tomorrow and ask some more questions. The prescription is not covered by the insurance and there is 3 refills on it, I wonder if I'll be taking it that long as well.

  • That's pretty normal if your progesterone levels are under 15 on a medicated cycle.

Then again, if you didn't ovulate on CD 14, a progesterone check on CD 21 could give misleading results, which is why you should see a RE if you're not already.

FYI, they often write you a prescription for a ton of the suppositories because if you end up pregnant, you have to take them until you're 10-14(ish) weeks pregnant. Some brands are cheaper than others and some pharmacies are cheaper than others, so if you're OOP, you should shop around.
    **siggy warning**  **everyone welcome**

  • My ob told me before he likes to see it above 10, I've heard some Dr's say 15. Mine was once 9.8 so they supplemented me with the pills but said it wasn't really that low.

    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Thank you Ladies. I have taken the first dosage tonight and I already feel cramps that I hadn't felt since day two after IUI. Does this medication start working that fast? What other symptoms did you experience?
