Acupuncture to induce labor

Hopefully someone hasn't already asked this, I would have done a search, but I'm mobile (currently getting an NST)

I've been going to acupuncture routinely for the last year. I currently go for weekly treatments, and at 38 weeks we'll start trying to induce labor with acupuncture. (Disclaimer- I have insulin dependent Gestational Diabetes, so I won't be allowed to go much further than my EDD)

Any STMs already do this? I'm worried that since I'd still be trying to get my body to do something that it wasn't doing completely on my own, that the experience may be less pleasant/more painful. Thoughts? Experience?

    I have no experience (FTM) but was literally just talking to a friend about this. She induced labor with acupuncture @ 38 weeks and said she felt amazing afterwards and went into labor that night. She had a relatively easy labor and delivery, her water broke at 10pm at night and he was born 8am the next morning.

    I haven't researched anything about it myself and honestly didn't even know that was possible until she told me about it. I'd be interested to hear others experiences though :)

    I also have no experience (FTM) but was seeing an acupuncturist while we were TTC. I absolutely LOVED it - so relaxing and wonderful. I was thinking about making an appointment to go back and do it again on one of my last days off for the summer, which is three days before his due date. So curious to hear from STMs who tried this!

    Another FTM with no experience, but my OB recommended it and gave me a referral. Bring on the needles!

    I've done acupuncture with my second one and she still was 6 days late... Didn't tear though so in terms of prepared cervix it could have helped. But quite honestly - you never know... I
    I am starting my labor preparation acupuncture next week. If I go past the due date I might try induction.

    I went on Monday for labor induction acupuncture, and am still very pregnant. I have a RCS looming over me( sched for Monday) I've tried all there is to try I've been stripped 3x I've done castor oil 2x and everything in between and what I've learned is if the baby isn't ready to come then he's not
    Coming.
