update to no fetal pole at 5 1/2 weeks

Hi ladies.......I posted a couple of days ago about my beta being 40000 but no fetal pole or heartbeat. You guys were all so gracious in your responses and I am giving the following update..........My last ultrasound was Thursday and today 4 days later she saw a very small fetal pole and a heart rate of 91.....She said I am measuring behind and that I should be 6 l/2 weeks but measuring 5 weeks 6 days.

She said she didn't want to give me false hope and that I should come back in 1 week.......I was excited because it progressed but obviously not enough......So confused.......Now more waiting......Any input or help please....thanks

Baby has a heartbeat, and a good one for that gestational age! Hang onto that, because that is great news.

Baby could be measuring behind because you ovulated later than you thought or baby implanted later.

Don't give up hope! FX for you.

Don't give up hope! That is great hb. My re said this early the dates can be off a week , they are not accurate at all right now. You could of been late implanter or O'd later, like pp said. Good luck! Was thinking of you thanks for updating...

Any heart rate at all is good for 5+6. At 6+0 you'd have about a 50/50 chance of seeing a hb period... and hb starts slow and quickly speeds up.

Honestly, the last two scans your baby seems to be tracking right on for its actual gestation (based on charting, not lmp). Your scans sound good to me. Promising even.

Did baby measure bigger? Because that there was growth and that there is a hb are the main things here. Don't get caught up in 5+6 vs 6+3 (or whatever). There is a +/- 4 to 5 day margin or error...a mm difference in their mouse click makes a huge difference in the measurement. Focus on the growth and the hb.

((Hugs)) I agree with the other ladies. Baby grew and now has a HB, which is wonderful! Hang onto that. I hope you see more growth and a stronger HB next week.

Thanks for all your replies and well wishes. They are so very much appreciated. I am going to try and takePOSITIVE approach for the first time........Hopefully next week will give me more answers..
