PSA: All amazon shoppers!! SMILE!

Not sure if everyone knows about this, or why I didn't mention it ages ago. Regardless, everyone should check out Amazon Smile!

Go to smile.amazon.com before every one of your amazon shopping sprees. The first time, you choose a charity to support and it will be linked to your account. After that, a portion of your spendings will go to that charity EVERY TIME you order. You just have to go to smile.amazon.com first each time and then navigate your items to purchase. Its all the normal amazon stuff, just a different starting place.

The nonprofit I work for actually gets extra funding by doing this. Amazon doesn't add more to your bill or anything like that. Its just a way for you to choose a charity and then Amazon to donate money. (Kroger also does a program like this if you are in an area that has Kroger stores. You choose the charity and it is linked to your shoppers card. You can PM me for details if you want for that.)

  • @katybriggs You choose the charity once, unless you decide to change it. It saves it to your profile. :-)

But, if you order through the regular amazon site, it won't donate. You just have to start on the smile site! Does that make sense?

For me, if I go to the regular amazon site, it reminds me to go to the smile site before placing the order.

  • @bluedot818 No purchase, but things were added to the wish list after our convo and it reminded me of the program.

@elf828 I am not sure about the app. But I do know you can put everything in your cart to purchase and then log in to a desk top to check out via smile. Its an extra step, but worth the contribution if you choose to.
