Got my surgery date!!!

I just have to say, I love my doctor's office. Even though the person who does scheduling was out last week and they couldn't get me an appointment, she called me first thing this morning.
Before scheduling, I told her that I had some questions before scheduling a surgery. One of my main concerns was that I never heard from the doctor that my surgery was absolutely necessary in order to carry a baby full term. So I told her that. She said "hold on" and placed me on hold. Next thing I know, the doctor himself is on the phone. Now I don't know about you, but I have never had an actual doctor get on the phone with me to talk to me. After some medical talk, it boils down to the fact that due to the size and number of the fibroids, it is necessary to remove them. Onward and upward.
So, my surgery is scheduled for August 12! I will have started my new job by then, and school will have started, but I knew I wanted the first available appointment.

I go in for my pre-op appointment on Friday August 1. I am just eager to get back in the game.

I'm so glad you have something on the calendar so you can move forward.

My RE calls me directly on the phone, too, when I email him with questions. I have never had this with a doc before. It makes me feel so much more confident about my care.

This is great news! I'm so glad you love your doctor and that he took the time to speak with you about your concerns. I know you are eager to get this taken care of so I'm glad you took the first available date. I hope you recover quickly so that it doesn't interfere too much with work and school.

Great news! I also have phone conversations with my RE when it comes to test result explanations or him wanting us to try something new but a sit down isn't necessary/available. I'm so glad it worked to have the conversation and you got your reassurance!

Thats great that you have it on the calendar! So strange how that gives us something to "look forward to." Hope that is the start of a new beginning for you!
