Hi ladies. I was curious what you all thought of the names we've come up with. The boy middle name is a family name and the girl's middle name is the English translation of one of my middle names: Boy - Dean Oliver Girl - Giada/Giadalyn Serena Thanks ladies for your input :)>-

  • I much prefer Giada over Giadalyn. I don't particularly like either with Serena.

  • Dean Oliver is great!

I prefer Giada to Giadalyn (Giadalyn seems made-up to me and I'm not a fan of the the very Italian name plus lyn), but I don't think I would pair Giada with Serena...both 3-syllables and ending in "a" sounds a bit funny to me.

I would consider something like Giada Lynn instead, or if you love Serena, I suppose go with Giadalyn Serena.

  • We'd probably use the Italian pronunciation Jah-dah. I'm pretty set on using Serena. And Giada is about the only girls name DH and I both love, that's why I was trying to come up with a way to breakup both names ending in "a".

  • I adoooooore Dean.  One of my all time favorites.
  • Dean Oliver is an amazing name.

Giada and Serena both end in same sound. Giadalyn Serena flows better

  • I would go with Giada (Jah-da), Giadalyn is not really a name...

  • @MorganWP‌ - is Jadalyn a name?

  • I also like Giada so much better than Giadalyn, and am not a fan of Serena, especially when paired with Giada.

I do love Dean Oliver though!

  • Boy names are so much easier!

I really like Dean Oliver and Giada Serena. I personally don't mind the double "ah" sound at the end of both. Also depends on your last name. I do think Giadalyn is just...too much.

@kaniela17‌ Uhm. No? Would you pronounce it Jah-da-lyn? Or Jay-da-lyn? I feel like most people would pronounce it the second way. I do.

  • I also like Dean Oliver but not so sure about the girl's name for the same reasons other PP's have mentioned above.

  • Maybe Giada Lyn or Serena Lyn, but I can't really hear Giadalyn working. Dean Oliver is nice.

  • Got this list off of Baby Name Wizard. Some of those names are really crazy. It's pronounced Jah-dah in Italian, so if we use it we'd probably go with that. Thanks again ladies for all the input. I keep going back and forth with it, trying to find a nice medium. I too dislike the double "ah" sound and want to avoid it. I don't want to use Lynn as a middle name. I thought boys names were hard but now that there's a possibility of actually naming a child this, it's become soooooo difficult.
