Humping

Any other little ones do it? I wanted to ask the doc at her last wellness check but I'm honestly afraid it's really abnormal and afraid to bring it up. I hate rocking DD anymore because she insist on straddling my leg so she can hump it and if I move her she has a tantrum. I just want to know if it's normal or if I should be concerned or if there's anything I should do to stop it. I'm anti body shaming and whole I expect her at this age to grab at herself this was a surprise.

Re: Humping

  • I'm so relieved. We don't react to it but DH just saw it for the first time and tried so hard not to laugh and all I could do was glare at him.

  • I have a boy, but he definitely humps things.  Mostly the cat.  But overall he I guess just likes the rocking motion, because he'll just air hump too.  It sounds so weird to type that out.

  • Joseph humps pretty much everything. I think it's normal lol.

  • I pretty sure Jameson has humped every toy and surface in our house. He does it to our pillows on the bed all the time. My DD did it when she was little too, I vote for normal.

Same. Sometimes we throw a pillow on the floor and we watch him gleefully hump away and we think it's hilarious.

  • I'm confused. So you actually notice humping, I only see DD bounce up and down on the ground, or when she sits in my lap, usually when she is excited or hears music. Is this different?

  • My DD is definitely a humper. Like almost pornographic humper when she gets really tired. I asked the doctor and he said it's normal and gets worse around the age of three.
