Re: Weekly High Risk Check-in -- 7/21

  • 1.  How far along are you now? 19 weeks tomorrow -- almost half-baked!

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? A/S is next week and I can't wait! Also, despite the doc's thoughts to the contrary, the 17P shots got approved by my insurance, so I'll start those next week probably. Just have to arrange with the pharmacy for delivery, etc. (I'm not crazy surprised b/c $2K worth of shots is way cheaper than a preterm delivery with NICU time in the insurance's POV)

    3.  How are your symptoms? Doing pretty well; getting up is getting hard and bending over is almost impossible. It's going to be a (hopefully) long 4.5 months.

    4. GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing? I despise putting away my clothes. It usually builds up over time until I have no clothes left and I spend two hours in my closet making everything look nice again. Funny because I was such a good worker when I did retail clothing sales before college...  SO can't stand that habit so I'm working on it.

  • 17 weeks today.... OB appt on Thursday can't wait to hear the heartbeat! I'm feeling ok just weak and some trouble catching my breath sometimes.... I hate the dishes because I had to do them all the time as a kid.
  • I have two appointments this week. I will update then. I hope everyone is doing well.
  • @roo1582‌ sounds like a positive update.
  • Has anyone else had any experience with this?

    1.  How far along are you now?  18 weeks 3 days

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?

Hey ladies!  I follow all of you every week on here and after the last couple weeks I figured that I would join since I am kind of struggling.  I was high risk with my last pregnancy because I am a diabetic and have high blood pressure.  This pregnancy has been a lot harder than my last as I started bleeding a couple weeks ago,  first they told me that I had popped a blood vessel and that is why I was bleeding.  After spotting and bleeding again a couple weeks later I went to my high risk doctor and was told that I have a Subchoronic Hemorrhage.  Basically the end of my placenta isn't attaching because of my C-section scar from my son (14 months ago).  So it is causing a blood blister to form and that keeps popping and I start bleeding.  So basically it is a waiting game for it to pop again, I go in for another ultrasound and make sure that my water didn't break.  As I understand that is the biggest fear with this condition.  They said that sometimes it will absorb back into the body.  So stressful! :(  Even more stressful because I need to be careful not to lift very much which is very hard with a 14 month old running around!

    3.  How are your symptoms?  Bleeding has stopped and I am feeling better.

    4. GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing?  Cleaning bathrooms!

  • @AbbeyP1982 Many hugs! I have a SCH too, but unknown cause. I'll be thinkin about you!

    1.  How far along are you now? 20+1 !!! :)

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? I've got 2 weeks before my next ultrasound.

    3.  How are your symptoms? Pretty good. Related to SCH: just some very light spotting as of late, thank god. Can finally sleep on my back.

    4. GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing? I used to hate doing dishes, until my SO bought us a new dishwasher (we bought the house in January, the dishwasher was from 1983, and had been recalled).  The dishwasher is AMAZING. Takes food off dishes like I've never seen before. I baked zucchini bread, and we ate the bread and wanted to see what the dishwasher could do: It removed the baked on bits left in the pan!! No scrubbing! So now, my least favorite chore is folding laundry......if only I could get a dryer that does it for me ;)

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? No updates, but did schedule a/s for 8/8 and have started my Mekna injections (progesterone.)

    3.  How are your symptoms? Starting to feel movement, I think.  I had a stomach virus last week, so it was like revenge of morning sickness, but I am thankfully feeling much better now.

    4. GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing? I am with @haleyusf I hate putting my clothes away.  I live out of baskets!!

  • Hello all, I'm Rose, 33 with Gestational hypertension. This is my 4th with 2 living, ages 14/11.

    1. How far along are you now? 17 weeks

    2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? I see OB tomorrow, after my first full week of modified bed-rest.

    3. How are your symptoms?
My BP reading are pretty good. Im really beginning to believe it's the meds giving me the weak, faint-like & constant headaches feelings. I'm on the highest dose of Labetalol and procardia.

    4. GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing? DH is amaze-balls and handles most of house work. If it's considered a chore, I dread getting in the shower! I get soo exhausted!
  • 17 weeks and 1 day
Doctors appointment on Friday to discuss parasite- we will be having more stool tests (yuck) to be figuring out if I'm cured or not.
    3. I'm on another prescription ( I feel like all in doing is taking drugs)... I've developed thrush all over my mouth as a side effect from the antibiotics for the parasite. My symptoms have felt a lot better though.... But I still have the occasional bout of diarrhea so we are unsure if I got rid of it or not.
Worst house chore: can I say all of them except laundry? I don't iron because I'm terrible at it and DH is so particular ( he does it) we never dust or and I hate cleaning toilets. ( and I'm so happy to be preggo again and not be able to do the cats litter)

    17w 4d

    2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?
Tomorrow am, in depth a/s. Hoping to see babies' sex and no signs of ttts!

    3. How are your symptoms?
I'm anxious/worried about the babies a lot. I've been trying to avoid dr. Google because I just get stressed out that something will go wrong.

Otherwise I'm kind of tired but feeling good overall.

    4. GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
    All of them :)
My worst right now are dishes and laundry
  • @ashtonkitty1‌ Yeah, I'm really wanting off of it! The labetalol has given me headaches from the beginning and the procardia gives me these weakening, fainting, fatiguing feeling. I'm off of work so if I'm home I guess I can handle it but it's no fun. All in the name of that one day mid-December when I get to hold this #lovebaby! :x
  • Hey ladies! I am new to here and also a high risk momma! This is my first pregnancy, I'm 20 weeks along having a girl. I'm high risk because of fertility issues from my husband.
  • I am 20 weeks and 1 day. I have my 20 week u/s tomorrow. Symptoms I've been having is severe heat exhaustion and was on L&D Friday night for dehydration and got fluids. Still very nauseous and having morning sickness. And so far the only chore I hate is bending to shave my legs haha
  • Hey ladies!

    1. How far along are you now?
    19 weeks 1day

    2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?
had my a/s on Friday. After returning to get extra shots since baby wouldn't cooperate, I found out that everything is looking good. Huge relief. I also got the wonderful news that our Harmony tests results were in and our baby girl is extremely low risk for any of the tested for trisomies. Given my age and health issues this was all wonderful news.

    3. How are your symptoms?
I've been pretty uncomfortable. Most likely because baby is getting big. Other than that I'm doing pretty good.

    4. GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
cleaning the bathroom. Loathe and despise!

  • Hello. FTM, I'm 35 + with placenta previa.

    1. How far along are you now? 18 weeks 6 days.

    2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? We just got amnio results today. Everything came up great! Baby is healthy and a boy. We did have a level 2 ultrasound at 18 weeks. Everything looked great. Except they couldn't see baby's feet. I'm going back in a few weeks for another ultrasound.

    3. How are your symptoms? I'm feeling great. Stressed because I'll deliver at 40. Happy first trimester nausea is over.

    4. GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Bathrooms!

Thank you. Happy to have the support of my fellow D14 Mommy's!!
  • Unfortunately, can I please be added to this list? We found out some bad new after our 18 week sonogram.

I'm now 19 weeks, second pregnancy, first baby. The dr saw a mass in the ultrasound that leads him to think our girl has gastroschisis or an omphalocele. Which means her intestines and maybe other organs are growing outside of her abdomen. (DONT google unless ur ready for very graphic photos)

There also may be genetic/chromosomal abnormalities, so I'll be having an amnio and extensive ultrasounds.

So right now, we just don't know the extent of the complications. But even with the best we can hope for, just this single complication, we're looking at surgeries and a NICU stay. and a very scary ride.

    1. How far along are you now? 18w4d, baby is measuring 19w0d.

    2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? First appointment this AM. Cervix 3.7cm. No changes with pressure. She scanned all the anatomy and said everything looks great. This is a sonographer that told me this so I take it lightly, but my Dr said he is growing well. Fingers crossed everything is ok. My placenta is still low lying, but not covering my cervix. Baby is currently breech. MFM tomorrow.

    3. How are your symptoms? My placenta is anterior, so I have only felt a couple kicks and one set of hiccups. Otherwise, I feel amazing.

    4. GTKY: What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Putting laundry up. I can wash and dry like a champ, but am horrible at folding and hanging it up.
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • 18w2days. . High risk due to duodenal switch weight loss surgery 4 years ago. I'm 25 almost 26 and this is my first child. So far everything has been fine except for severe fatigue and being put on a no work order. I have a level 2 US on August 1st. Can't wait to see my little one

I would like to be added to the list as well.
Our baby also has an ompalocele.

    1.  How far along are you now?

    20 weeks

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?

Doctor saw what appears to be an omphalocele at our 20 week ultrasound on Thursday. We have an appointment for an amnio and more in depth ultrasounds on monday morning. Sometimes chromosomal abnormalities and/or other birth defects can happen as well.

    3.  How are your symptoms?

This does not have any affect me or the pregnancy, just the baby.

    Hi! I'm Tye.
    1. I am 18 weeks and 3 days
    2. I was seeing a high risk doctor for ptl. During my ultrasound they found that her bowels were a light color and she has a small cyst on the brain. I went in to give blood to test for downs and trisomy 18 on Thursday, she said she would call with results in a week. Before the ultrasound I was just receiving the p17 shots weekly, but now the hr doctor wants to measure my cervix every 2 weeks and if it shortens before 24 weeks I have to get a stitch he said.
    3. I feel pretty good.
    4. Hate washing dishes!
