Food Allergies and craving peanut butter!

Questions: Do any of you with food allergies ever crave the foods you're allergic to? Have you ever given in? Have you ever used your epipen while pregnant?

Back story: I have genuine food allergies (wheat, peanuts, and shellfish) and oral allergy syndrome both diagnosed from an allergist/ immunologist. My allergic reactions range from itchy and burning mouth through severe gastro-intestinal pain and vomiting to breathing problems.

Ps. In case you're wondering; I'm not planning on eating allergens, I'm just curious if anyone else is going through the same thing. I realize that a severe reaction can cause me to have a miscarriage.

Sorry this is so long!

Thanks everyone for your replies! I feel very supported on my battle with the PB! ;-)

@flutterfly88‌ and @TNorth03‌: thanks! Maybe Cashew butter is the key. I'm not a fan of almond butter, but I bet the cashew stuff is creamier!

@thegoodpotato‌: thanks! That's a good idea. I haven't been getting near enough protein lately so maybe that's what this is all about!

@Izzy0927‌: Dairy?! Omg! I won't complain about my allergies, as that's a tough one! Wheat used to be super hard to avoid (I basically couldn't eat out or at friends and made everything. From scratch for YEARS! However, now that it's trendy to be gluten free, it has gotten so much easier, in some ways. There are far more options for me but people don't always take it as seriously as they should because they think I'm on the trend bandwagon. If that's the case, I built the wagon! As I've known of my allergy since 1999. Lol).

@Allie429‌: yikes, thankfully the smell of my allergens hasn't made me feel ill! Yikes! I hope you can avoid them!

@usmcwife89‌: I'm so sorry you're so allergic to chocolate! That is just awful! I've heard carob chips are a substitute but I'm sure you've tried it. Thanks for commiserating!

@Nvywife‌: seconded, to the hope that no one has a severe allergic reaction while pregnant! Thanks!
  • @CogDis‌ maybe change the fried chicken to avocado or something... You know... For healthy fats. The fat in avocado is similar to but fats. :)

Note: I swear I wrote nut, and autocorrect changed it to but. And I'm leaving it that way because it makes me laugh. :)

  • I'm highly allergic to chocolate. I go into anaphylactic shock when I have had it. I always have an epi pen with me or I don't leave the house. I actually just talked to my doctor about this because I have been craving chocolate. So bad that I ask DH to describe what it tastes like to me hahaha. The doctor said because my allergy is so bad, he obviously recommends I don't give into it. And instead eat something else that is sweet. He said people often develop allergies while pregnant but never do people lose allergies they previously had. Needless to say.. I still won't know what chocolate tastes like! :(( Edit: darn iphone spelling error
I am confused by your post.

How do you crave something that you do not know what it tastes like?
