Is pregnancy induced sleep apnea a thing?

No, really?  I have found that I have been sleeping terribly for awhile now. I just chalked it up to growing a human and getting bigger and bigger.  I have noticed that I sometimes wake up with a dull headache.  I didn't think anything of that until last night, I woke myself up.  I had somehow managed to roll to my back and I woke up choking for air.  I really felt like my throat was all closed in.  It was terrifying.  Now I'm wondering if I'm doing that on a regular basis without waking myself up?  I had a headache to boot last night when I woke up choking which I attributed to lack of oxygen.  Scary.  So, really is this a thing?  I don't have sleep apnea normally.
We are so excited to grow our family!

I have it! Sleep study and all! Now I sleep with a cpap - very sexy... It's caused from the increased pressure on my lungs when I lie down. Now I sleep SO well and I know that baby girl is getting the O2 she needs. Talk to your doc!

  • I have been using breath right strips for a month or two. They have really helped me. DH said my snores would wake me up and make me choke a little. He says it doesn't happen while wearing the strips. Worth a try and a hell of a lot cheaper than a sleep study!
