Prayers please. (For a different reason)

My husband is leaving Monday for a 9 month deployment. I am completely devastated about him missing the birth of our first child. I am praying that he will stay safe & that he will be able to take some type of leave around my EDD. Odds are he won't be able to be here with me. If that's the case I shall skype the birth. I don't know how I will make it through this journey on my own. Since we are on a military base, all our family is very far away.

T&P coming your way! I hope you are able to find some support to get you through these months. I had heard that sometimes military personnel are required to take parenting classes prior to the birth of their children, maybe that might be a place where you could meet some moms in a similar situation who are also looking for support?

Stay strong! From one Marine wife to another, you've got this! You have already been strong enough to face things that most women would find unbearable and I'm sure you've conquered them with strength and grace. This is just another drop in the bucket that you will be even prouder of yourself for having done it. (We have a 7 month deployment coming up this fall so I'm talking as much to you as I am to me!)

Prayers your way of course. My best friend had her husband leave for his first deployment when their baby was 3 months old. Luckily his deployment will be shorter than expected. I hope you have the same luck!

usmcwife89 I am in your shoes, but this is number 2. Please feel free to pm me. I am looking into Operation Special Delivery as I already know my DH doesn't get leave on his deployment. You should be able to qualify as well pending someone in your area providing service. Even though I mentally know I am nit the only one to ever do this, I have been feeling like I am. Needless to say I am very glad you posted.

Lots of hugs. A girl from my BMB with DS had her baby while her husband was on deployment. I don't think any of us will ever forget reading her birth story, and crying the happy tears with her when we saw the photos of her iPad taped to her bed, so he could be there the whole time. Then we all cried again when he came home and met the baby. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to go through this without the love of your life beside you, but remember that you have all of us to lean on for support.

Thinking of you! My DH was deployed this winter, so I know how challenging and emotional it can be. Have you made any connections locally, any other mama friends or people who can help you out along the way? And maybe your family can visit around the time of the birth or soon after? Here for moral support as you need it!

Thank you all for all the support and kind words!!! I am hoping that some of my family can make it down to see me during the time. I'm still looking into other resources that the base offers. Like classes to keep busy.. Really anything. I'm doing all I can to stay positive but of course I'm 100x more emotional than previous deployment.
