Car Seat: Head Rest

When do you take the infant insert out of the infant carrier car seat? I have no idea where my manual is.
happily married since 2009, SAHM
diagnosed with unexplained infertility, regular cycles
Baby #1: ttc naturally for 3 years, 6 yr old daughter
Baby #2: ttc naturally for 2 years, 2 yr old son
Baby #3: ttc naturally since August 2016

    My insert was for 11 lb or less. The head rest can stay as long as it fit or until they didn't need the support. I have Chicco keyfit 30. My infant inserts have been out for my twins over a month but I actually just took the head rests out.
